Though they didn't make the Fall schedule, the Gossip Girl spinoff and the Minka Kelly/Jason Dohring show Body Politic are reportedly still alive — if barely — at the CW. The shows are both theoretically in contention for a midseason spot (though the CW's boss has said they'd really like that spot to be the spinoff's). Now, we've already seen a little of what the spinoff could be, and some clips of Body Politic have hit the web. So check out both options and tell me: if only one could make the schedule, which of these shows would you rather watch?

Please not the spinoff!
1There is just too much remake/spinoff stuff going on! First 90210, now Melrose Place, and The Beautiful Life (which is basically a REMAKE of Models, Inc. which was a SPINOFF of Melrose Place). At least Body Politic is something DIFFERENT.
2Neither.They should of kept Everybody Hates Chris. All the shows on CW now look lame.I've been there done that with 90210 and Melrose Place.I don't want to watch it again.
3Body Politic looks like it has potential plus it has Jay Hernandez. Yum!
4I was sooooo disappointed in the GG spinoff. what was up with the lead guy with no lips and bad hair?? Body Politic looks like a great cast and like it is about something more current.
5I kind of want to see both, GG spinoff because I love GG, and Body Politic because I really like Jason Dohring. I'm hoping whichever they pick is actually good.
6Of the two, definitely 'Body Politic'. I like the DC/politics angle.
7I don't like Lily in Gossip Girl so i definately would not want to see a show about her!! She's cold and not that pretty. No way. I love Jay Hernandez and Minka Kelly so i'm praying for Body Politic.
8Jason Dohring any day over the spinoff!
9Wow....The Body Politic looks INTRIGUING! Definitely Body Politic.....no more silly shows like Gossip Girl....we have too many already!
10Smart characters, sexy writing, politics are hot. Gossip girls are not. Would like to see much more of Body Politic.
11Definitely Body Politic....great acting.....great actors...will definitely keep my attention!
12Body Politic looks interesting--I like the DC aspect, and it also has Jason Doring!
13Oops, sorry, I meant to write "Jason Dohring".
14Is there a way to let TPTB at CW aware of these results? LOL! I really, really want them to pick up Body Politic.
15Haven't we already seen the Gossip Girl spinoff? And it kinda sucked? No thanks, something different please. Jay Hernandez in uniform (he-llo!) will do just fine.
16Body Politic, definitely. It looks smart, funny, and has an interesting premise that is very relevant to the current state of this nation.
17Something smart and sexy. Definitely Body Politic!
18Body Politic looks like a lot of fun !
19I'd watch the spinoff out of loyalty to GG but in truth neither show interests me that much.
20I'd absolutely watch Body Politic! I love Jason Dohring, Minka Kelly, Brian Austin Green, Gabrielle Union and Jenny Wade! Just give me a show with Jason Dohring and I'd watch it, but if you had all these other actors I also love, along with a great premise for a show? No contest!
21Considering people like Kal Penn are going to DC and then tweeting to us about what they're doing, now is the perfect time for a show about 20-somethings in DC. Give me a show where the main characters actually care about something more than fashion or their love lives!
Not to mention...the entire cast of Body Politic is a lot sexier than the casts of most of the pilot pickups from the CW. This show should have been picked up for fall.
If the CW watched how people raved about Glee..they should know that people don't just want the same old cookie cutter show about shallow, rich people. Let's get with 2009 and Body Politic!
22I just saw the clips for body poilitics and it looks interestiing, that would be a show I could definitely get into. I am still mad at the CW for cancelling Privileged.
23If CW passes up Body Politic they are really in need of a major overhaul.
24The stars in this show are wonderful and brings such a breath of fresh air to CW.
Body Politic is the only show that should be considered now or actually should have been put in the number one position for the fall season.
Right now I only watch Supernatural on the CW, but I'd watch Body Politic, if the CW is smart enough to pick it up.
25The Body Politic! Please, CW, pick this up! I've never paid any attention to upfronts and pilots and did so this year soley for The Body Politic. It's something completely different than anything else on tv, which is what tv needs right now. It's got an amazing cast with such potential (and even in those clips from the pilot, there's SO much chemistry there already!), and it would be the only politic show on television at a time when the key demographic (18-34 yr. olds) is extremely energized towards politics. I know so many people (and that doesn't even include the huge, cult-like followings that Jason Dohring, Friday Night Lights (Minka Kelly), Terminator (Brian Austin Green, etc. have) who really, really want to see this show. You'd have such an audience already without promotion simply due to the huge following the actors have. And if the show turns out as good as the pilot script was and the pilot seems to hint at, all of those viewers will keep watching (and possibly get interested in the other shows too).
26The Body Politic all the way! It's a smart, fresh show that the CW definitely needs in order to build a stronger and better reputation. A lot of young people need a show like this on the air. Body Politic in my opinion can only help the CW.
27If the CW picks up Body Politic, I'll be willing to re-add them to my 'friends list' on Twitter! I deleted them after upfronts because there wasn't anything on the CW I still wanted to watch, but Body Politic has a premise and cast that will pull me in, even against my will! Pick up this show and you've gained back another viewer, CW!
28I hated the GG spin off and I much prefer Ryan Hansen on Party Down! I'm already worried about GG not being the same when they go to college. OTOH, I'd love to see Jason Dohring on my TV again, along with Brian Austin Green. I've also loved Gabrielle Union since Bring it On and Jenny Wade has been great in Reaper. (Seriously CW...you chose to air an ANTM repeat rather than Reaper??) If you pick up Body Politic, I'll call it 'bygones' though! xoxo
29Body Politic, no question. I haven't watched the CW in years because I've "outgrown" all of the shows it airs, but this, I'd definitely come back for. I was shocked that it wasn't the frontrunner on their fall schedule--it's got what looks to be a fantastic cast (definitely one capable of pulling back in the slightly older fans who remember the days of the WB and early CW--Gilmore Girls, Everwood, Veronica Mars, etc., who've lost interest) and definitely provides something different (finally! why is it so hard for networks to understand that people want something that isn't like everything else) that will appeal to all of us that went out in droves and voted last year. Politics is big with younger viewers right now, so I'm surprised that the CW hasn't taken advantage of that, especially when they rely on that demographic. The fact that the show also seems to provide what the CW loves--relationships, twenty-somethings living together, family drama just makes it that much better (and much easier to sell on their network). Hopefully the CW will do what FOX did with Glee and take a chance on something that's really different and unique.
30I'd pick Body Politic over a Gossip Girl spin off, any day of the year!
31I'm a fan of Gossip Girl, and even I have to admit that the Body Politic looks WAY better than the GG spinoff. The GG spinoff looks really hackneyed, while the Body Politic cast seems to already be sparking. Please pick up the Body Politic!
32Uhh, BP is the obvious one to pick. The GG one is just annoying. Who cares about the 80s? I was born then and I don't. But Obama? Hells yeah.
So that means they'll probably pick up GG because that's the way these people think. Whatever.
33Body Politic absolutely and it's not just the fans that want it! Korbi saw the pilot presentation and along with everyone else...can't understand why the CW hasn't picked up this show!
http://blog.zap2it.com/korbitv/2009/05/the-body-politic-.html
34body politic!!!ITS GREAT!!!everybody admit it!!!is dawn ostroff blind???????THE backdoor pilot for gg spin off only gain a 2.31 million viewers.how the series will gain????surely less than 2 million!!!
35Not even close. I would much prefer watching Body Politic and hope everyone gets the opportunity to do so.
36It is kind of sad that this is an actual poll. The backdoor pilot for the GG spin-off was horrible! Body Politic has this great premise and great cast and the CW would be stupid not to pick it up. This is the kind of show that would make me watch the CW again. I just read this Korbi TV article too that she wrote up and tweeted out after watching the presentation and it seems to be pretty much a no brainer that BP is the show that has a chance of gaining the CW a bigger audience and some critical praise again, after losing shows like Everwood, Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars.
37Would definitely watch Body Politic.
38IT IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND NEW: WE NEED A CHANGE FROM THE ORDINARY!!!!!
I don't know what the CW is thinking with the GG spinoff. I know many, many people who absolutely love GG (although much less now than they did during season one) and not a single one of them has any interest in the spinoff. Most of them can't stand the adult Lilly, so why would they care about her as a teenager. For a spinoff/prequel to work, there was to be at least some attachment to the character, and most times it doesn't even work then.
Body Politic definitely looks worth checking out. It would be nice to have something to do with politics on television again, especially now when so many young people just spent the last year campaigning for Obama or are now going off to college for political science--it feels like it would be a good fit for that age group, as well as slightly older viewers like myself. I would definitely watch it. The spinoff, definitely not.
39Body Politic looks way more watchable!
40Isn't Jason Dorhing a Scientologist? Is it possible that we might become a brainwashed couch-jumper if we watch his show?
Just sayin'
41They both look kind of bad. But I'd definitely give Body Politic a shot over the GG spinoff (since I watch GG, I already watched the backdoor pilot, and it annoyed the crap out of me).
CW's fall lineup is just nearly full of shows that makes me wonder: who watches this crap? They're remaking Melrose Place? Really? Is that because 90210 is doing really well? Who watches that? Nobody I know. And who watches One Tree Hill? And some shows about models? Yawn. ANTM needed to be put down like last year, and they gave it TWO timeslots? Ugh. I guess CW is trying to catch the Twilight gravy train with Vampire Dairies, but that show looks god awful.
42I've yet to see any images, and I provided the art work for the set. How can I make a comment? Also, working with Eloise and Dane on the set was beyond a great experience/relationship; these people are true professionals and deserve and merit much praise (and finanicial renumerarion). Put the series on the tube.

Anonymous, how exactly is Jason Dohring's religious affiliation in any way relevant to the quality of the show he's on? I also had NO idea he was so closely associated with Tom Cruise, clearly they're best buddies since apparently Dohring will be copying his couch jumping antics and I guess that was him who I saw in all those paparazzi photos with the Cruises.
Cut the anti-Scientology crap. If you're not going to give the same grief to Jay Hernandez for being Catholic, and since Scientology clearly has nothing to do with the quality of "The Body Politic," then your argument is ridiculous and baseless.
Take your trolling elsewhere.
44The Body Politic is way too good to pass up. Everyone's tuned in to Washington these days and the storyline plus cast of Body Politic make it great!
45I vote Body Politics. The cast looks to have better screen presence and potential. There would be a balance between office politics, intrigue and relationships to make for enjoyable TV.
46Anything with Jason Dohring!
