30 Rock made a M*A*S*H joke this week, and my friend practically threw a fit telling me all about her hatred for that show. She said every time her parents turned it on and she heard that famous theme song, she wanted to cry from boredom. I actually know quite a few people who feel that way, even though M*A*S*H is considered one of the best shows of all time.

Maybe it's an age thing — do teenagers love Mad Men as much as I do? Then again, I know plenty of people my own age who think Mad Men looks boring despite all its critical acclaim. And even though I'm a huge fan of The Wire, I know there are lots of folks out there who don't get it and don't care to.
I'm wondering: What critically acclaimed show — whether now or in the past — do you just not think deserves all the fuss?

American Retro
Dolce & Gabbana
Diesel
I think Mash is boring too. But Mad Men is sooo awesome!!! I can't wait until the new season starts!!
1I hate Seinfeld.
2I can't stand MASH!
Recently, I asked a coworker is she watched Real Housewives of OC (or NY) and she replied "No! That show is for old people."
I am not even 30 yet (she is 24) and I love it.
3Hill Street Blues and Barney Miller.
I'm going super old school. My family loved Barney Miller which was suppose to be a comedy but as a child I found it decidedly unfunny. Even now watching repeats I wonder where the funny is.
And Hill Street Blues - my family was obsessed with that show and it use to clean up at the Emmys but I would sit a watch and wonder what the appeal was. It just was dull, predictable and the actors were all unappealing. Then again I was 8, 9 or 10 when it was on.
4Lost. All in the Family. That 70s Show. MASH.
5First of all, I love M*A*S*H.
I never really got all the fuss about The Sheild or The Wire though. I started watching them but just gave up because they were boring. Same with 24.
6ugh, mash. can't stand everybody loves raymond OR seinfeld.
7Maybe not a "classic," but I used to devotedly watch "Family Ties" each morning at 6:30... but from 6-6:30 right before it on the same channel, "Coach" was on-- and I HATED "Coach." I often missed the first minute or so of "Family Ties" just because I refused to even catch the last few seconds of "Coach," and would do everything in my power to avoid it.
8I thought Mad Men looked so boring until I watched it, and OMG it's the most addicting show ever!!!
9Seinfeld and Mad Men- tried both, did not like either.
10Definitely Seinfeld.
11My favorite from the current season; most people do not seem to have even heard of it. "Breaking Bad", and I can understand how a lot of people do not get it. But I love it.
For some reason, when I watch it, I love 30 Rock. But The Office, I just dont get whats so great about it. I guess I dont care for the documentary style. But, anytime any of the actors show up in a feature film, I really enjoy their work in those.
12Seriously?? MASH is one of the best shows ever made. I don't get the love for 30 Rock. It has funny moments, but overall I don't get the love. I've never really liked CSI either.
13Seinfeld and Full House. Hate Full House with a passion. Even if it is a family program I hate any show that tries to solve problems like anorexia in a half hour.
14I don't hate it, exactly...but Seinfeld has just never appealed to me. There have been a few episodes that were enjoyable but mostly I was just like, "huh." I was never that into Will and Grace either - I couldn't stand Grace's character. So obnoxious and self-centered.
15This is pretty old school, and I don't know how acclaimed it was, as far as awards, but my father used to watch and LOVE The Three Stooges, and I could never find anything even a little funny about it. Of course, I was a little girl when I was watching with him but even now when I run across an episode I change the channel as quickly as possible!
16Oh yeah-- for current times, I don't like 30 Rock's appeal. I think there are plenty of other shows on TV with equal levels of comedy--and just really don't see why 30 Rock is such a stand-out program. And "Two and a Half Men" just pisses me off with their repetitive story lines. Each week, Charlie is sleeping around and being sex appeal on a stick (which I don't see AT ALL how anyone would be attracted to that character being how boring and unattractive he is), and Alan is getting shafted in some way.
17it may be a generational thing with the 70's, 80's sitcom shows, so i'm going to mention something modern: that 70's show and 30 rock. i've tried to sit down and watch it a few times but never acquired a taste for these shows. and i love the british version of the office, but can't stand the american version. i dunno, i like steve carrell a lot, but i just to have to look at ricky gervais' face and i crack up immediately.
18M.A.S.H and Seinfeld. My mother loved M.A.S.H. to no end and I hated it to the other end of the spectrum. I never got it... Seinfeld is something that almost everyone I come into contact with seems to like. I can't stand it one bit. My brother and I once had an argument about it. He tried to sell it to me to the point that I had to tell him to give up.
19Seinfeld (if it's a show about nothing, then why do so many people like it?? is it supposed to be ironic?) and I've tried to watch M*A*S*H a couple times and it put me to sleep.
20I like M*A*S*H and I don't like 30Rock at all, it's just not funny.
21genesisrocks: I can understand why you may not like Full House. I like Full House because it's nostalgic and I can relate to the story (my dad is a widower and I am the oldest of three sisters...we didn't have a Uncle Jesse or Joey though), but it's the cheesiest show ever. I still love it though
22I'm a teenager that loves Mad Men, & I know others that do as well.
23I never like M*A*S*H either. I don't watch that much t.v. so, IDK...i'll have to try Mad Men. We'll see.
24Dare I say it?
Friends.
Yes, I said it.
Not funny at all.
25Thank you Honeybrown - I too hate Friends. I never watched more than 5 minutes tops of an episode and luckily I don't think it's currently considered a classic. At least I hope its not.
26friends. just don´t like it
27How do you know if Friends sucks if you haven't watched more than 5 minutes, wackdoodle? i understand that some people don't like it, and I lost interest in it for awhile too, but I watched all ten seasons after they came out on DVD and I became obsessed with it. It's my favorite show. I understand that everyone has different tastes, but yes, I think it is considered a classic. I've seen several polls conducted about the greatest TV shows of all time and it usually in the top 5.
28I would have to say ER. I've watched a few episodes and got into it a bit but never really understood how so many things could happen in, outside, or near one hospital.
29I tried watching twin peaks, but I didn't like it at all : /
30MASH ia awesome, I did not see it will it was on, I am too young for that
but I love
it. I watch it every day in reruns. One of the best shows ever...maybe the BEST
31Californiagirlx7 - I had the misfortune of attending three Friends taping during its run. Sitting in the audience watching the show film - I will tell you - not funny at all.
I'm glad you liked it - glad you LOVED it enough to buy the dvd. Poll - shmolls. Statistics can be manipulated to show anything.
Hey, I liked Manimal and The Greatest American Hero when I was a kid and well still do. In my opinion and the opinion of some other people they were great classic shows (in another universe).
32Three tapings?? Wow, did you get dragged to see them? Sorry, I didn't mean to just say that the show has topped many polls. Friends is also listed on a lot of critic's lists as being one of the best shows of the '90s, if not one of the best shows ever. I respect your opinion, not everyone likes the show...Seinfeld is also considered a classic, great show and I don't understand its appeal at all.
33Californiagirl, are you getting residuals from the show or something? Nowadays, polls are quite laughable as many aspects are now bought or sponsored for skewing. In addition, today's polls are answered by those under 30 whose t.v. viewing only goes back so far; thus, it shouldn't come as a surprise that more modern fare is deemed "classic-worthy".
34this makes me laugh! There are plenty shows I just don't like/get their appeal, but that doesn't mean they're Bad or Horrible shows, just that they aren't for me. Shows likw Friday Night Lights or Gossip Girl. All I want to do is punch every character. And for comedy I think it just depends on your stle of humor, I happen to love 30 Rock, but I like that kind of stupid humor, and Lost, well I love sci fi and things like that (oh and Jack and Sawyer haha). It interesting to see how many people don't like such hugely popular shows though!
35I've never understood what's funny about Seinfeld, The Office, Two and a Half Men and How I Met Your Mother
.
36I also hate NCIS. That "kooky" goth lab chick makes me wanna punch the screen
,
37Seinfeld, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, American Idol (lumped in with all other reality TV and Deal or No Deal), Rescue Me, ER, used to like CSI and Heroes, now they both suck
38Rome & The Tudors put me to sleep.
39Californiagirl- Please accept my sympathy for your mother. That must have been very hard on you.
40Seinfeld - not funny at all, most of SNL, Friends (really really don't get why people are so obsessed). And I don't know if it's a classic per se, but I don't get the appeal of Scrubs at all. Oh, and American Idol - annoys the crap out of me.
41And The Office. Okay, I'm done now.
42UGH I NEVER liked MASH, I was too young to get the war aspect when it was on the air and then when I was old enough, that crap was not funny IMO. I also could not get into Mad Men or the Shield. 2 and 1/2 men has got to be the crappiest piece of trash on tv yet ppl claim to love it? WHY!?!?!
43I've never understood the appeal and all the hype around 30 rock. Boring as it gets. Another one would be The Office but to be fair I haven't gotten past 10 min so I should probably give it another try.
44And LOST! I don't get Lost. I love sci fi's but that show annoys me to no end. I am sorry but truly, it should not ever ever be classified as a sci fi.
45HoneyBrown, haha no I am not. I know that some people don't like it, I just don't understand the passionate hatred for it. Just because you don't like a TV show doesn't mean that it shouldn't be called a "classic." And I specified that I was referring to not only polls, but also critical reviews. If you don't like it, that's fine...I was just curious why someone would say they hate it if they haven't sat through an entire episode.
genesisrocks, thank you so much. That really means a lot.
46Oh HoneyBrown I never liked Friends either. In fact, I forgot the show even existed until you said something lol
47Californiagirl, it's okay. I found your passion for it hilarious as I was reading your posts.
Jenjennn, members of my dorm alway had it on (It debuted in my freshman year) and a lot of my friends watched it (thus, I watched it with them). I just didn't get it. No biggie. That being said, much of today's prime time is ignored by me. I love cable and when I watch t.v., I'm watching cable networks.
48Friends, Ally McBeal, 30 Rock.
4930 Rock, Seinfeld, Ugly Betty.
