"Be Italian!!"
Wow! The first trailer for Nine, a movie-musical by the director who brought us Chicago, is a feast for the eyes and the ears. There are sexy women galore (Kidman! Cruz! Hudson! Cotillard! Sophia Loren!) in nothing but their skivvies dancing and doing the splits and generally looking like tortured artistic souls.

No one looks quite as tortured as Daniel Day-Lewis (replacing Javier Bardem) as famous film director Guido Contini, who's struggling to juggle his relationships with all the gorgeous women in his life, including his wife, his mistress, his muse, his agent, and his mother. It's an amazing cast full of Oscar winners, and the music sounds great. And hey, Fergie's in it, too.
Nine will be released November 25. To take a look for yourself, read more.

Every single woman in this cast irritates me except Marion. Pass.
Now that I've seen the trailer, I don't know how excited I am... maybe.
My friend who sells vintage couture sent a good amount of clothing for this movie, so I'm sure I'll get dragged to it either way..
Can't. Wait. Thanks for the trailer Buzz!
Meh.
i have no idea what this movie is about, the trailer doesn't help at all haha I'll probably see it, i liked chicago!
I loved Rob Marshall's take on Chicago, so I'll most probably go see this. I love musicals!
who let hudson and fergie in!?
i CANNOT WAIT! i've wanted to see how this turned out ever since we heard about it and i can only how that DDL does as good of a job that JB would have.
Oh my god. I have been so wary of this film, because the stage show is something so singular that I didn't think it would be adaptable. I never should have doubted Rob Marshall. The decision to move "Be Italian" into the minor key is stunning and dark and perfect for what that scene should be (because its kind of a molestation scene). The neorealist lense for the young Guido scenes is superbly adept. I don't love Judi Dench as Lilliane LaFleur, but that's my only issue. I should have never doubted Rob Marshall. Amazing. Now I can't wait for November!
It looks good...but the trailer doesn't really explain what is about. I'll go watch it anyway because I love musicals!
I would've liked to have seen some real Italian women in this film besides Sophia Loren. How about Monica Bellucci. And, sorry, a blond Nicole Kidman looks completely out of place.
I have wanted to see this, and it looks good, except I didn't get much out of what the plot is about. I also detested the song.
amaaaaaazing
Holy crap! Amazing! I know I'm gonna love it!
*squeals!!*
I was completely underwhelmed by the stage production with Antonio Banderas, but with Daniel Day-Lewis instead it has a great shot.
Looks pretty awesome. I don't like Kate Hudson much though, I hope that won't ruin it for me.
was... was that fergie singing?
I absolutely love Rob Marshall, and Daniel Day-Lewis is just candy, so I will be there. I still have not seen Chicago, but I love well written musicals, especially when they are dramas. my only hesitance is Kate Hudson and Fergie - beautiful but they just don't fit into period and they're terrible actresses...
Hmm... Maybe I'll check it out... I'm not so pleased to see Kate Hudson though.
That is Fergie singing "Be Italian". She will be great. I hope she sings at the Oscars and wins for best song.
jam, while it would be cool, i'm pretty sure "be italian" is from the original musical, so i don't think it would be nominated for best original song... anyone know enough about oscar guidelines to confirm or deny this?
Wow...what a cast. But...why Fergie? She doesn't seem to fit in at all.
And I cannot stand Fergie...
YES!
YAYAYAY!!! Daniel Day has been my "older guy" crush for YEARS! I'll be watching this just for him.
I think Fergie fits in more than Kate Hudson. Fergie is playing the role and singing well. Kate would be nothing without mommy's connections.
Kate Hudson is a wonderful actress in my opinion but I do agree that Nicole would have fit in better as a brunette but she did looks good. We know that she is not a blond naturally that is the problem.
1/2 is my favourite movie of all time. I doubt this will live up to it in any way, even though it's not *really* supposed to. WHY IS FERGIE SARAGHINA!?!
