I wasn't prepared for this week's emotional ending to Ugly Betty. We knew that Ashley Jensen, who plays Christina, would be moving on, but it was still sad to watch Betty say goodbye to her friend. First, though, the show had to remind us that Christina and Betty are BFFs, especially since Betty has been spending so much time with her new boyfriend and Amanda.

Betty is there for Christina after Wilhelmina bans her from seeing the baby, but their friendship is pushed to the limit with a certain twist that brings up the age-old dilemma: do you stick by your friend when she's accidentally dragged you into a high-profile illegal affair? To see what Betty chooses to do, read more.
- I was hoping Hilda and Archie were going to announce getting married. I know we haven't seen enough of them together, but he's nice, he's successful, he's not married. Good enough!
- Hilda getting excited about being in Archie's video shoot is so cute: "Should I play up my arms like Michelle Obama?"
- The first thing I noticed when we finally get over to Mode is Amanda's freaking skirt. Whoa. I still don't know if I love it or hate it.
- The deal with Cal Hartley hasn't been inked yet, so he's in the office to finalize things. He still calls Daniel "bunny!"
- Amanda on Cal: "Daddy Warbucks is kind of old . . . and hot" and "Betty, when I marry Mr. Hartley, I'm gonna be your mom."
- Betty tells the police that Christina would never ever kidnap a baby, so of course I knew that Christina had totally kidnapped the baby.
- I can't believe they bring the baby to Betty's house! I feel like that implicates the entire family in this crime. Very irresponsible.
- Hilda is so peeved at Betty for bringing the baby over during the shoot. This line of hers, delivered to Betty when she explains that they just need to prove the baby is Christina's, cracked me up: "OK! So we'll just drop by the DNA pagoda at the mall!"
- It always touches me when Betty turns to Claire for help.
- And how cute is Archie? He totally understands Betty kidnapping a baby! And then he even gives her advice to play dirty.
- Marc comes up with a new Willi nickname after she figures out a way to hold on to her stake in the company even without the baby: "Bravo, Willi-maestro. Bravo."

And thus ends the whole Christina-Willi-baby-Meade heir plot that has dragged on for about 25 years. Are you sad to see Christina go? What did you think of last night's episode?

Wouldn't it actually be "Willi-maestro"?
1Rats! Can't believe I missed it, but I mean come on, I've been waiting all season for Bones to say she wants a baby, I couldn't miss that show.
I love Archie, hope he stays on the show. He's so much cuter than any of Hilda's other boyfriends!
2bunnyOhare — good thinking. I spelled it the way I heard it but I think your version gets to its essence =)
3I'm gonna miss Christina. Outside of Marc and Amanda, she's my favorite side character. Although, speaking of, I was disappointed in Marc last night. I thought he might speak up this time.
And I had the same reaction to Amanda's dress. It really looked to me like she was wearing the top of an umbrella as a skirt.
4Amanda's dress made me laugh--I'm assuming the wanted reaction. As for Christina, I mean no Rebecca Ro. now no Christina
.
5i loved amanda's skirt!
6I'm going to miss Christina. Loved her accent and that she was always there for Betty.
7I'll miss Christina just because she was a dose of a real world girl in that work place, for Betty at least. I loved how she could be real and still dress fantastic like a lot of the other people who work at Mode. But I feel like the baby story line was just a set up for Christina's exit and it feels forced and soap-operay to me. I love Clair and it's going to be interesting to see how she and Daniel deal with Willi now. I'll still tune in.
8I won't miss the baby drama, but I will miss Christina. Amanda is always the ultimate fashion victim. I loved the skirt (on her).
9Another week, another great Ugly Betty episode…so glad it’s back. I knew it couldn’t be Willie’s baby, and I’m glad they at least got that part right instead of trying to get for a really shocking twist. However, I really wish they would’ve found a way to keep Christina on the show…I thought she was a great character. I’m interested in seeing how they fill that void - I think Betty needs some sort of similar confidant…we’ll see.
The scene at the end was so beautiful, I’m really glad they used the song “Layers” by Asobi Seksu - this is the second week in a row where I thought they used a perfect song at the end to convey the emotion of the scene so major props to the music director! I love the Asobi Seksu singer's voice, it's so soothing and dreamy.
10Honestly I can't tell how disappointed I am that Jensen is leaving. Now we know that it's because Horta didn't have enough stories for that character. Which is a shame. You are right... they HAD to remind us Christina was Betty's best friend. They didn't play that at all this season.
No Gio, no Cliff, no christina... you can tell how sad I am... these people are competing how to make the show worse every episode they air.
11So sad that Cristina is leaving the show:(
12She's always my favourite character in Betty, as someone says, she seems to be the most grounded person in Mode (well, except for kidnapping the baby). Personally, I never miss some other characters (don't know why Gio was a lot of people's favourite, I found him to be quite condescending, Cliff's character was waaaaaay under developed).
Got me all teary-eyed at the end, I think she will still drop in from time to time??
though i would never wear amanda's skirt - it made me crack up and was perfect for her. sad about christina.... but thank goodness the baby mama drama is over.
13heheheeeee
