If Stella is the mom, I'm going to be pissed. He's already met her! I think Stella plays a key roll in Ted meeting his wife, but I don't think she's going to be it. Nope.

I don't think it's Stella. I mean, she has a daughter already...and the two kids aren't that far apart in age. So if it was her, the show would be ending and they would have to have a kid asap to make it work.

i kind of do think that it's someone that's been on the show before. there's something to be said about having a character in the show and then to bring them back much later as the title character.....

the constant, "if it weren't for this you kids wouldn't be born" thing makes it seem as if Stella is the mother, but it doesn't seem right. i'm hoping Stella introduces Ted to a friend who will end up being the mother.

I'm kind of hoping that it's someone new b/c I feel like Stella would be too obvious. I'm going to guess that through Stella, Ted meets someone new and perhaps that's the mother. Or maybe that meeting with a new person leads us to someone new. I guess it depends on how long this show is going to go on, otherwise Ted could be 50 by the time he has the kids!!!

I think Stella is going to introduce Ted to someone. I am not a Stella fan at all. Also, I really think Lily needs to come back I miss her. I know she is on Pregnancy leave but seriously. COME BACK ALYSON!

It can't be. I hate Stella! I do think that she might introduce him to the mother. Since Ted was so vague when talking to his kid's I'm hoping that means she's not. Also wouldn't the kids have known when he was telling them about Stella in the past? Kids would know their Mom's name was Stella.

If it was Stella their kids would have been blonde, my guess is it's Danica McKellar.

so, Stella is annoying and a b*tch for leaving Ted [who looked better than usual in this episode] at the altar. Basically, I think it would be too obvious if it's Stella; she definitely plays a role in introducing him to his mother, probably introduce him, as someone above said. Or at least I HOPE SO! I can't wait for them to introduce the mother, just so we can keep moving on with Ted's story line. I can't stand that character, I am much more interested in all the other characters. And I miss Lily.

Stella is not the mother. Ted keeps referring to something about the umbrella, but that's when its blowing down the street. And the wedding episode showed that Stella and Ted's kids would be blonde, not brown haired.

It's definitely not Stella, rather, she will play a part in the mother being introduced to Ted. Stella was at that St. Patty's party, so she must have had friends (i.e. potential mother) with her.

If it is someone from the past episodes, I'm hoping for Victoria.

I don't think it's Stella, but someone that Stella introduces to Ted. Think about it: She feels really guilty about leaving Ted at the altar-- the natural move would be to set him up with a friend... a friend who may have always been perfect for him, but it wouldn't have worked while Stella was still with him--for obv reasons.

Also that brings back the other issue with the prop dressing similarities between Stella's house and Ted's kids' future perch.---the framed letter?! I think that's more than just a fluke of the PD team...

I'm with you guys. I don't like Stella and I don't want her to be the mom. Ted can't move to New Jersey. Also, I think that I need to pay closer attention to the reruns.

I think the mother has passed away and that's why he's telling the kids how they met. I also hope and doubt it's Stella. HURRY BACK LILY! Robin will be "leaving" soon to have her baby...

okay i don't think stella is the mom because of the way things were shown in like the it could've been sequence when they were about to get married....but what i think is going to happen is that ted will give stella his yellow umbrella then sometime in the future he will see a woman with a yellow umbrella and think it's stella and go up to talk to her, but it's really another woman that somehow got the umbrella, through stella or sound it or whatever, and then that's the mother. that's my prediction.

But last season when she left him at the altar he said stella couldnt be the mom because they showed another set of kids with light hair. Ooh and afrochic, that is an interesting twist to the story!! I dont think Stella is the one for Ted.

My other thing too is, that whomever it is will need to fit well with the already amazing cast. So, that's my big worry cause the chemistry has to be there, etc...
