Rumor has it Silvestone and Clueless director Amy Heckerling recently discussed a script for a sequel to the high school comedy. On the cute side, it might mean Paul Rudd and Alicia Silverstone together again on the big screen. And yet . . . it's a Clueless sequel!
It's still very much a rumor, but is this something you'd want to see? I suppose we'd find out what Cher's up to all these years after graduation. But would this work if it's no longer set in high school? Is Cher still with her stepbrother? Did they get married (and is that super weird?)?
What say you?

Laura Ashley
This has always been one of my favorite movies! It could be good if they do it right.
1Horrible idea....it's been too long.
2I never understood what the big taboo is for dating/marrying a step-sibling. They are not related by blood. And clearly Cher and Josh didn't grow up together in the same house. So I don't find it weird. The fact that her father actually approved of them getting together should say something because he didn't like anyone.
3I agree Flurfairy.
What happens if you get together with someone and then your parents meet?
I think it is much grosser to marry someone you were raised together with (the best fried who was practically a brother growing up) or your former brother-in-law.
4If they don't do it perfectly it's going to be an EPIC disaster.
5i would love to see the cast together again but i don't see how this would work. but the idea of it does make me happy an now i want to watch the movie again!
6Amy Heckerling effectively already did a Clueless sequel. It went straight to DVD (unfortunately) and starred Rudd and Dash again but opposite Michelle Pfeiffer. It was called "I Could Never Be Your Woman" and it is the best romantic comedy no one has seen.
7As much as I love Clueless, it's been too long! I mean, it came out in 1995!!
If they do it, I'd see it, but I don't know if it will work
8danielletbd, you're right. I have "I Could Never Be Your Woman" on DVD and it's one of the best rom-coms I've ever seen.
9It sorta is like a Clueless sequel
AS IF! of couse its a YAY....this is my fav movie of all time!... I hope they do make it, it would be fun to see the whole cast together again
10and I agree with fleurfairy...its just like on gossip girl...I never understood why serena and dan had issues about their parents dating
11"If they don't do it perfectly it's going to be an EPIC disaster."
EXACTLY..which is why I voted "Other."
Also, "I Could Never Be Your Woman" is in my Netflix queue...guess i'll bump it to the top!
12Like OMG NAY.
13I loved this movie and i would watch a sequel even though it has been a really long time.
14I'd watch the sequel just because I was such a huge fan of the original...but leave the genius alone. It was a wonderful movie don't tarnish it's memory.
15Yes, because it will force Brittany Murphy to gain some needed weight.
16It's been way too long. Plus Cher was suppose to grow as a person by the end of the movie and if they do a sequel then I think the characters are going have to revert to their old ways to make things entertaining.
17Not like Heckerling is Scorsese, but the Color of Money came out 25 years after the Hustler.
Before Sunset came out 9 years after Before Sunrise, and I thought it was an absolutely perfect sequel.
18I say leave it alone. As far as I know, Jane Austen never wrote a sequel to Emma!
19I Could Never Be Your Woman is not a sequel to Clueless. But it is directed by Amy Heckerling and stars Paul Rudd and Stacey Dash.
20OMG they waited too long to have a Clueless sequel... It might be good though.
21Nooo...I love this film, but leave it the way it is. It's too '90s.
22I don't know. I'm torn. It is a brilliant movie - perfectly captures that moment in time. But sequels are always hit or miss. Maybe their 10-year reunion? Or was that already covered in Romy and Michelle's HS Reunion? It's just hard to believe that they'd all still be friends - 10 years (or whatever) is a long time.
23i'm on the fence about this one. i don't know if it's a good idea seeing as how the movie came out like 15 years ago...right? i don't know what they could do or even how the actors would be in the movie. we'll have to wait and see i guess .
24love this movie. loved the incestuous relationship between alicia silverstone's character and paul rudd's character. lol!
25BLASPHEMY! The whole point about this film is it's based in high-school, in the 90s, it's vintage Paul Rudd and so many "OMG that's the guy/girl from *fill space with various TV series*". I especially enjoy watching the film now because it's kitsch (in a good way), and it should stay like that.
26No. That was 14 years ago. That ship has long sailed.
27It's probably not a good idea for a sequel; but I won't lie, I'll probably still watch it! ^_^
28Buzz, why do you bold titles? Grammatically, that's incorrect. Movie titles are italicized!
29Oops I posted on the wrong page! I had two tabs open on my computer and I got confused. Whoopssss...
Anyway, I would love to see a Clueless sequel although I don't know how they would do it. Clueless is such a quintessial '90s movie about what high school and dating was like back then. What would it be about now?
By the way, Cher and Josh aren't technically step-siblings since Cher's dad and Josh's mom are divorced. So I don't see why everything thinks it's so weird...
30I'm on the fence. I love the original one, and it was perfect as it was and yeah, I'd not think Austen wrote a sequel to Emma LOL. Then again, Bridget Jones got a sequel (and it's based on Pride and Prejudice), so I guess, it can work as long as it's cool enough.
If they do make a sequel, I wonder if 'Emma' must revert to her old ways again although she supposedly 'grows up' by the end of last movie...
I'd probably watch when it got out free on cable tv
31I dont care if it sucks, i'd still watch it. I have a thing for ridiculous, cult, campy, etc type of movies and cheap sequels... so either way, i'd still watch it!
32I reckon I'd definitely see it, but I'm really scared that they'll screw it up, Clueless is one of those cliche movies that I love and besides,Paul Rudd is (admittedly still gorgeous) 40-something and can't really pull off college student anymore.
33fun! cher has to have kids, including a daughter just as clueless as she was back in the day. they could have flash backs and then have cher's response now. who could play her daughter???
34AYKM???** yaaaaaaayyyy!
**Are You Kidding Me?
35I would love that because the messages of the first film were so beautiful!!! I also wanted to study Law just because of her dad. Alicia played a very sweet and supercool role...I did love her and I did love that movie!!
36I loved this movie but it was from such a different era- a remake would be better then a sequel. Look at the size of the cell phones in that movie! They just came out with cell phones- style was different- and things just weren't as advanced then as they are now.
37I absolutely loved it =) so why not ?
38If Amy Heckerling is going to write it, then MAAAAAYBE. But I don't really care to see what the characters are doing 10 years from now. The movie worked back then and we should just keep it there.
39I am unsure of this. Clueless is one of my go to movies for making me feel better, kinda like ice cream and brownies.
I like the idea of a HS reunion as premise for the sequel. I would watch it on OnDemand though. It would be to easy to take this in a wrong direction, like the TV show did IMO. I would have to wait, hope and see.
40I'd watch it.
41oh man, i am so torn
42this was my FAV movie of all time but i dont want them to kill it with a sequel...only if its done right!
only if ALL the original characters are cast. though it has been too long, so the problem of AGE may be an issue.
and holy moly, i just now realized that jeremy sisto was in clueless... now it makes sense why i
43i heard the movie would be about their reunion or something... anyway, i'd totally watch it!
but i hope they pull it off. I wish it won't suck...but.. AS IF!!!
44As if !
45Why not. They are making sequels and prequels for everything else. It would be fun to see it again.
46OMG yes!
47*sings* Rollin with the homiessssss LOL
48NONONONONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!! Hollywood has GOT to stop ruining great movies and TV shows! They've all but KILLED almost the entire genre of 80s cartoons with their stupid computer animation, they absolutely CANNOT do it to my favorite 90s movie too!
49I'd see it. Sure, it could be awful if it weren't done just right, but that's true of the original too and they pulled it off.
