Based on the BBC miniseries by the same name, this Friday's State of Play is a crime thriller in which "a team of investigative reporters works alongside a police detective to try to solve the murder of a congressman's mistress." Russell Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams and Helen Mirren star, and Tony Gilroy (writer of the Bourne trilogy and writer/director of Michael Clayton) co-wrote the screenplay.
Do you think you'll check this out in the theater or wait for it to be on DVD? Or will you wait until it's on TV for free or maybe skip it altogether?

I'll rent it, because my good friend worked on this film!
1What a Power House in this movie! Love so many of the actors in this movie! Looks good too!
2I heard this was good but I'm so lazy about going to see films in the theatre - rent.
3Saw a preview earlier this week and I was surprised to find that I really enjoyed it! I'm usually really picky, and I was expecting a weak film trying to get by on star power, but it was a great storyline and tight pacing. While Jason Bateman and Ben Affleck could have been better, overall I highly recommend. Now I want to see the BBC miniseries to compare...
4I will definitely be seeing this, though it will most likely be on DVD.
Russell Crowe is fantastic!
5eh.
6Looks very interesting but I rarely go to the theatre, I will definitely buy it and watch in the comfort of my own home.
7i saw the original bbc miniseries that this is based on. I am interested on seeing the americanized version. I am sure it is good unless they screwed up the original source material, but I would rather wait until it's on netflix to find out.
8I am a huge fan of Rachel McAdams, so I will see it only because of her...but it will probably wait until DVD.
I HATE Ben Affleck, and Russell Crowe doesn't do much for me, either.
9I LOVED the BBC version. I think its cast was much better (John Simm, Bill Nighy, Kelly Macdonald, James McAvoy, David Morrissey, Philip Glenister). I really loved it so I feel like I'd be disappointed by this version. I like Rachel McAdams and a couple other actors in this movie, but I just don't care for the other ones. Ben Affleck? Really? I just cant take him seriously.
