Not gonna lie, I'm jealous of a bunch of 15-year-olds today. This September the South Bronx will be getting a "first-of-its-kind public high school dedicated to film studies." The Cinema School will feature a conservatory-style curriculum and has drawn the support of folks like Spike Jonze, Catherine Hardwick and Spike Lee, who are helping to shape the program. The filmmakers apparently "won't be teaching full course loads, but many have donated time and resources to the school simply because they like the idea." This September, the school's inaugural class will consist of 80 freshman students.
This seems like it would be awesome, not just to learn the craft of filmmaking but to soak up all the history of cinema and to concentrate on a medium that has seen drastic changes from its inception to now, in this age of technology. What do you think of this new school? Is this a cool idea or what?

That's pretty cool, but I can see a lot of kids decided they don't want to go into the film business and transferring out after a year or two. Still a great opportunity for the kids who couldn't afford it otherwise.
1This is so awesome.
2very cool!
3Yay; this sounds way cool !
