Listening to a new Fiona Apple song feels like getting a drop of water after a long time in the desert. I so enjoy her unique voice and I miss it during the long breaks she tends to take between albums. That's why I was so excited to come across a recording of her singing the Cy Coleman song "Why Try to Change Me Now?"

I've heard Frank Sinatra's whimsical version of this old jazz standard, and it's great. Not surprisingly, Apple's take on the song is more melancholy than Sinatra's and completely lovely. I'd like to add this single to my MP3 collection, but it's not available on iTunes just yet (it will be included on a CD titled Then Was Then and Now Is Now: A Tribute to Cy Coleman).

I'll keep my eye out for when this single is available to purchase, and in the meantime you can take a listen if you read more.
