The other day at Sugar HQ, some coworkers and I started talking about whether Joss Whedon's Dollhouse is good (or at least getting better). One colleague said it was just too cheesy and nonsensical at times for her to really stick with it. I was in a different boat: It doesn't matter how many cons there are with Dollhouse, I just can't seem to quit it. It's sort of the opposite of a guilty pleasure, in that there's not a lot of pleasure, but if I stopped watching now, I'd feel too much guilt. I also sometimes feel this way about Private Practice.
So I'm curious: Is this unique to me, or are there shows that you keep watching despite not necessarily always enjoying them? What shows' flaws do you put up with, for some reason, week after week?

1Terminator, Sarah Connor Chronicles. I am pissed they killed off Brian Austin Green, though. Pissed enough to maybe quit watching it.
2I can't seem to quit The Hills or Making the Band 4, what I'm thinking about quitting though is Gossip Girl they have too many breaks in the year.
3I finally broke up with Ugly Betty this season; I know I really "should" quit America's Next Top Model, but somehow I just can't
4Ugly Betty, the new 90210, & Grey's Anatomy
5lol, same here with Betty and Grey's. I actually get mad at myself!
6G's to Gents and Supernatural
7Heroes- second chance because they stopped time traveling so much.
8ANTM
American Idol
One Tree Hill, reruns of the old 90210, and The Hills
9Dollhouse. Even though my husband and I make fun of it (like how the title sequence features only Eliza D., even when the other actors names appear)...I just can't stop.
and Lost. I'm so entrenched now. Even though I sort of hate it now, *sigh*.
10I am thisclose to quitting Ugly Betty, but I just can't. I almost quit Grey's earlier this season, but I'm glad I didn't.
Also, I can take breaks, but I just can't quit General Hospital. I love the fact that I can miss months (or sometimes even years) at a time and still pick it right back up.
11The new 90210 is a train wreck but I can't stop watching.
12Heroes: I keep watching it eventhough I know it sucks these days.
13ANTM: It's just not as much fun as it used to be.
The problem is that if I stop watching these shows, I'll have to fill my time with different ones that may be worse! LOL
how i met your mother. it's just not consistently funny. but i love love love jason segel and neil patrick harris. and alyson hannigan is adorable.
14Grey's and Desperate Housewives. IBut, I'm very close to quitting Ugly Betty.
15Ugly Betty is teetering on the edge of being pulled from my Tivo list and I am also pissed about Brian green being shot point blank. I have an eerie feeling Jessie will pop back up. Dollhouse is off my list and love most of what Whedon has done (Buffy, Angel, Firefly). Its creepy to pimp people ut and then wiped their memories of it. And the murder or suicide of Kal Penn's Character on house was a major hiccup. Heros lost me.
16Grey's Anatomy and Heroes.
17Private Practice. Especially with that infuriating storyline between Addison and the husband of her pregnant patient...
18I quit Heroes, Lost, and Private Practice, but I just can't quit Grey's Anatomy, no matter how crappy it gets. Thank goodness it's rebounding a little bit. And Symphonee, I would argue that Supernatural isn't a guilty pleasure that one should quit; that show is consistently good and often times great.
1990210 and Grey's
I haven't watched Dollhouse yet but in this picture Eliza Dushku looks TINY. Is the actor next to her just so huge or is she really that small?
20I really like the show but it conflicts with TNA and something else that my bf and I dvr so I'm kinda close to quitting
21I can't keep up. I am planning on watching most of whatI have missed online though.
22The Hills and 24.
23Aw, I kind of like 'Dollhouse'. The last two episodes have been much better. I think people are expecting it be on-par with 'Buffy' right off the bat, but even that show took two seasons to really develop into what we all fondly remember it as.
I've just stopped watching 'Ugly Betty', though. But I don't really feel guilty about it. The show was to blame, not me!
24I hate any show on MTV, I'm more of a sucker for talk shows.
25House , Gossip Girl , The hills
26Heroes!!!
27I'm hooked on Lost (always have and always will). But with the new pilots out, I think I'm going to have to tivo some new shows. Cupid and The Unusuals are promising.
28GG obviuosly. it's way relaxing. Lost as well, as i was watching yesterday's episode today i couldn't find a reason to ditch it and yet i have been watching it for 3 year now (precisly, i started in beginning of april 2006, it's the only show that lasted this long on my list), is it good is it not good? i can't tell
i just love it, unconditionally.
and when it comes to bad tv - it's ANTP that i can't quit, i know it's terrible TV i know it's a waist of time, but it's just too gooooooood
)
29For some reason I watch Dollhouse on Hulu every week. It's horrible; terrible writing and acting, but I keep watching. In the past I've quit Lost (after season 2), House (God knows when, it just got so annoying) without a problem.
30I have that with Prison Break, so I'm really glad there are only a few episodes to go..
31america's next top model is driving me crazy this season... but i.just.cant.quit
others: one tree hill, private practice, hell's kitchen.. man the list could go on forever!! I watch way too much DVR
it's sad when the networks decide to quit the shows for us... like pushing daisies...
32I can't seem to get off the America's Next Top Model bandwagon either! It gets in your blood..
But I definitely broke up with House and 90210 in the last season or so, everything got so repetitive.
33I, too, have gotten into the sick habit of every Wednesday night, save like 2.5 month annual gaps, I sit down at 8:00 to watch Top Model. I don't want to-- but I compulsively have to.
And I recently developed a truly sick obsession with Wheel of Fortune, but we are not even GOING there right now. Vanna takes the term "annoy" to a truly different level.
34Heroes.. I sometimes think I just keep watching it because I started at some point. And also GG, sometimes it's pretty bad.
35Actually I think Lost is getting better again (and so is Grey) so I'm glad I stuck with it.
I gave up on 90210 after abou 3 episodes.
I'm about to be two episodes behind on Dollhouse but that just means more to watch in one sitting. I really hope it at least goes on into another season.
36I like Dollhouse and Private Practice.
37Dirty Sexy Money was one that I couldn't quit, but didn't always enjoy, but I guess thankfully ABC felt the need to pull it out from under me.
That said, I dvr quite a few shows, all that I enjoy, but I take a bit of time getting around to watching them, in that I don't really feel like watching them, but generally I always end up enjoying them.
Dollhouse, How I met your mother, Gossip Girl/One Tree Hill, The Office, The Hills (so glad it's back!)
38Smallville, sometimes the episodes suck but I keep on watching it though cause they do throw in a few good episodes.
39Gossip Girl, sometimes I also feel that way about it, it feels like the same storyline repeating itself but I continue to watch it.
For me, it's Grey's Anatomy...only because I was SUCH a fan from the get-go and loved it so much for the first three seasons. But then, last season, I started to lose interest, and now I REALLY am not that into it. But I feel this weird, almost guilty feeling giving up on it!!! I don't know why!
40grey's anatomy
41Grey's. But there's always some good parts in Grey's. Private Practice too, but I kind of enjoy it
42Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Embarrasing.
And CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Even though I know I can skip an episode and not miss anything, I just can't.
43The Hills...
44I finally quit Heroes this season and I've just about quit on Ugly Betty. I think the only show that I still torture myself with is Numb3rs...
45Gossip Girl. Every time I watch a new episode I say to myself that I'm not going to bother to watch the next one, because the show keeps getting worse and worse. The plotlines make absolutely no sense this season! But I've kept watching anyway, and I keep hoping it gets better...
46Grey's....omg, I started watching "Bad Girls Club" for some reason. I got hooked and that's the worst show on TV!!!! I will never start that up again.
47Dollhouse (which I actually really like), Ugly Betty (but it's improving), the new 90210, Damages (I sorta quit - they're just hanging out on my TIVO, waiting for me, but I wasn't as into it this year)
48WHY LORD WHY CAN I NOT QUIT AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL???
49I really he that show, but I keep coming back to see Tyra i more and more ridiculous outfits.
