NBC still hasn't officially canceled Lipstick Jungle, but at least one of its stars is moving on. Lindsay Price has been cast as one of the witches in ABC's drama pilot Eastwick, about young witches experimenting with their powers.
The drama pilot is based on the 1987 movie The Witches of Eastwick, which is itself based on a John Updike novel. It appears the characters will be at least slightly different from either the book or the movie, though: Price's character is named Joanna and is described as "a hard-working shy reporter for a local newspaper." (Sukie, Michelle Pfeiffer's character in the movie, was also a newspaper reporter.)
Price is the second of the three witches to be cast: Jaime Ray Newman was previously hired to play Kat, a "good-natured nurse" and mother of five.
Of all the Lipstick ladies, Price (and her character, Victory), grew the most on me over the course of the series. I'm glad she's got another job lined up, though I worry about what this means for the future of Lipstick, which NBC is still reportedly trying to save. What do you think? And if you're familiar with previous versions of Eastwick, could you see Price fitting in?

This sounds like another Charmed in the making.

2I would definitely check this out. tlsgirl I totally forgot about Charmed! Me and my sister used to love that show!
3I'd like to check this out. I loved the movie and was a Charmed fan.
4Sounds like a fun concept. I think I might have read the book when I was much younger... I hope they don't totally rip from Charmed.
5well i'm just happy that she's got opportunities in case LJ goes away. granted she's the most endearing and real sort of...so it would be a shame if they wanted to try to bring the show back and there was no more Lindsay. i don't know if there's another actress that could do justice to the role.
6I like Lindsay...I'll give it a shot for sure.
7The first thing I thought of when I read this was Charmed, so I am excited. La Tue Cantante - me and my sister were also into Charmed!
8I love the movie and quite curious on how they're going to make a tv show out of it.
9this def sounds like charmed. i might give it a shot.
10I hope they save Lipstick Jungle!
It was really getting interesting.
