One of the most well-known love stories of all time is, of course, Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. There's young lust and passion, devotion and romantic tragedy, all rolled up in one long, dramatic tale. Would you say it's the greatest love story ever told?
Countless love stories have come about over the years since Shakespeare's time — in books, songs, poems, plays, TV shows and movies — and many have had just as much passion and truthfulness as Romeo and Juliet. Which is the greatest of them all, to you personally? Rhett and Scarlett? Edward and Bella? The little ditty about Jack and Diane, perhaps?
In honor of Valentine's Day, tell me about the love stories that resonate with you the most.

Ron and Hermione from Harry Potter.
Penny and Desmond on LOST. (The only thing that I hope works out on this show.)
25Cory and Topanga from Boy Meets World.
Marshall and Lily from How I Met Your Mother.
I loved Eternal Sunshine and I'm going to agree with Wesley and Buttercup too.
The
Princess Bride was airing just last night. Maybe Romeo and Juliet, the 1960s version.
Amelie and Nino
Holly Golightly and Paul Varjak
The ending isn't necessarily happy, but Geneviève and Guy from The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg

31Oh, Darcy and Elizabeth just have to be at the top of the list.
32Also, from literature, Edward and Bella, along with Eve and Roarke (from the "In Death" series by Nora Roberts).
Movies wise, I'd definitely go with Johnny and June, Noah and Allie, Harry and Sally, and I'll throw in Jamal and Latika from "Slumdog Millionaire" because I'm in love with that movie right now.

Hands down, Joel and Clementine. Closely followed by Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
33Some of my favorite:
Ron and Hermione - Harry Potter
Pam and Jim - Office
Zuko and Katara (I know it's not canon, but I love it) - Avatar: The Last Airbender
Rose and the Doctor- Doctor Who
Wesley and Buttercup- Princess Bride
Cory and Topanga - Boy Meets World
Out of all these, I have to say my favorite is Rose and the Doctor. the scene in Doomsday has me bawling everytime.
34I prefer the ones that work out, not end in tragedy, though there is tragedy too in An Officer and a Gentleman. That movie had love on several levels; the love of Mayo for the Debbie Winger character, Mayo's love for his friend who committed suicide, the hard-ass drill sergeant (for which Louis Gosset got an oscar) loved his recruits, every one, every class.
Check out my story on my blog at

35Does it make me crazy if I say Mickey and Mallory from Natural Born Killers?
36Ennis and Jack. Because they risked everything, their families and even their life.

38My favorite love story is definitely Nickie Ferrante (Cary Grant) and Terry McKay (Deborah Kerr) in An Affair to Remember.
