There's a lot to like about this promo for the third season of Showtime's The Tudors, but the music is absolutely cracking me up. The promo shows scenes of Jonathan Rhys Meyers's Henry VIII and his many wives, all set to the sound of . . . Queen's "I Want It All." Would Henry have been into stadium rock if only it had existed in the Tudor era? How funny is it to have a show about a king with promo music by Queen? Am I just entirely too entertained by this? (Yes.)
Anyway, this spot for the third season — which will be eight episodes long and is set to kick off April 5 — shows the war, romance, and killer costumes we've become accustomed to from the series. This third season will cover Henry's third and fourth wives, including the lovely Joss Stone as Anne of Cleves. This is around the time the historical Henry would have been getting fat and unattractive, but don't worry — JRM won't be going down that particular path.
Will you be watching the show when it returns this Spring? To rock out to some Queen and watch the promo, just read more.

Can't wait!!! But why only 8 episodes instead of 10??
1JRM makes me weak in the knees. But I'm going to miss Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn. As to the Queen song, Henry VIII was quite the talented musician in his day. So yeah I think it references that he was like a rock star of the 1500's.
I so wanted to like this series but got soooooooo lost in the first few episodes even though I know the history.
2it's going to be my goal to get the first 2 seasons so i can catch up before season 3 comes on. i know that he won a GG for his role in this so it means that i'll love it even more. i've been a JRM fan since bend it like beckham so i'm psyched about the trailers that i've seen so far .
3I've been Netflixing The Tudors and have fallen in love with it. I know the series is no where close to historically accurate, but when JRM is standing there, who cares?
4Love the show and love him. I need to catch up on season 2. I missed all but one show. I will definitely be watching season 3.
5Natalie Dormer is so crazily talented. I wish they could have changed history and not have Anne Boleyn die. I can't wait to see what else she turns up in. Why not 26 episodes instead of 8. That seems like a good number
6I'm catching up on season 2. I love history but I can overlook the lack of accuracies on this series.
And I love JRM. He's one of the sexiest men I've seen on screen.
7DAMN.
Warn someone before you put a picture like up again Buzz!
8That pictures scares me a little, especially the funny little mustache. As a brief aside, my first year in New Orleans I saw a guy stumble out of a bar the day after Fat Tuesday, at 7 a.m., wearing a skirt almost exactly like that. It, too, was a little jarring.
9OMG I'm dying to see this but I don't get that channel anymore
10Don't get that channel????? YOU MUST!!!!! I purchase Showtime every spring JUST for The Tudors... it is NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!!!
11I can't wait for Season 3
I can't wait! I will definitely miss Natalie Dormer as well. She was incredible as Anne. I couldn't even hate her character nearing the end...
12LOVE!
13Whoa. Henry VIII looks even more sculpted now and I love it.
14WHOO QUEEN
(sorry, I'm just a huge Queen fan)
and YES! The Tudors! Too bad there's like only a millisecond of Henry Cavill in that clip
though. More Cavill!
15uhhhh....ok LOVE the show...understand the significance of the lyrics....but 16th century England and 80s gay rock band are two themes that just dont mesh well in my head
16Drool! Looks great. Cannot wait for Season 3.
17But we need more Henry Cavill - he was so under-used in Season 2. I missed him terribly!
Can't wait for Season3 OMG!!!
18i lovelovelove henry cavill!!
19it worries me that they stepped down the episode order to 8.. any word on why or talk of a season 4?

Anne of Cleves was ugly and smelly, and Henry detested her and supposedly never consummated the marriage. How could Joss Stone play her? They needed a young character actress for the part, someone who can be ugly and look like she reeks. Of course, they all did in those days as baths were believed to be unhealthful!
