The CW revised its midseason schedule just a bit today, bringing Reaper back early (yay!) while putting it directly in the path of American Idol (boo!). Meanwhile, Privileged has a finale date. The big stuff:
- Reaper will be back a couple of weeks earlier than originally planned, with a new premiere date of March 3. It's also switching times, moving to 8 p.m., which is noteworthy because it will put it directly up against That Which Cannot Be Defeated, American Idol.
- The other part of that announcement is that 90210 will move to 9 p.m. starting March 3. It makes more sense there, I think. That also means it will be protected from Idol, which might give it a better chance at good ratings and renewal for next season.
- Meanwhile, the finale of Privileged will air Feb. 24. That seems so soon!
- All 13 episodes of Reaper will air in a row, ending May 26.
- 90210 will basically take the month of March off. It'll be in repeats starting Feb. 17, but it will be back March 31 with eight new episodes in a row. The first-season finale is set for May 19.
What do you all make of the moves? Is there more good news or bad news for Reaper? And can you believe we only have a few weeks left of Privileged?

That privileged finale does seem so soon! Is it slated to come back another season?
1yay, there's no bad news of Smallville and Supernatural!
those are the only shows I watch on the cw.
2yeah, did i miss something? has privileged been canceled?
3well - woo hoo! about 90210. i'm not sure if it really makes that much of a difference to me when they air it but i guess everyone's afraid of AI.
4Privileged hasn't been canceled, but it hasn't been renewed, either. I actually don't think the CW has announced renewals for any of its shows yet.

6I hate all of these shows.
7I hope 90210 gets more "risque" with its new, later time slot.
8I really hope Privileged comes back-- that is way too soon for a finale!
9Well I'm happy to see the early-than-stated return of Reaper!!! I'm a little peeved that it will be up against the long-overdrawn American Idol. But since I don't watch Idol, that means there is now something on Tuesday at 8 for me to watch!!!
I hope this doesn't mean that the CW is just preparing this show for a death blow, because it's definitely one of the more original and funnier shows on television right now. And with the early demise of Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone, it's nice to have a show that plays with whimsy!!!
10Upfronts are in April/May, right? We'll find out then for sure about Privileged...probably.
Honestly, I don't understand what The CW gains from doing all of these schedule switches. Not viewers, that's what.
11i'm sad about privileged ending so soon. what am i going to do without it for so long?!
12They better not cancel Privileged - I swear - everytime I really get into a show, the CW cancels it!!! UGH!
13That stinks about Privileged ending so soon but at the same time I'm kinda glad because I didn't know how I was going to juggle my Tuesdays on DVR with Scrubs being at 9 as well (at least until March).
14I don't think Reaper will fall flat being up against Idol but in the first week or so 90210 will be up against it too since Idol usually starts at 2 hrs because they have so many contestants. I don't particularly care for 90210 but I really really hope they renew Privileged.
