Hilary Duff is set to play Bonnie to Kevin Zegers's Clyde in a new story about the lawless duo. The indie movie The Story of Bonnie and Clyde will be directed by Tonya S. Holly from her own script, "which is a new adaptation of the story of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow rather than a remake of the 1967 classic film. . . Holly began working on the project after reading old newspaper articles about the gangster pair in an abandoned house on her family's property."
I think a new Bonnie and Clyde story might be cool, but I probably would have never in a million years thought of Hilary Duff to play Bonnie. I do find it interesting that Duff has been veering more and more into the independent film world, though. The last major film she worked on was the 2006 movie Material Girls. I wonder if eventually we'll be able to see her as something more than an older Lizzie Maguire? What do you think?

well i think that she's found her niche sort of. it's like she's still young and wants to be respected as an actor and maybe this is how she feels she needs to go about it. remember that she's got YEARS AND YEARS ahead of her, so i'm sure that we'll see her in something big eventually.

3I adore Kevin Zegers. However, Hilary Duff can't act her way out of a paper bag. This is an odd pairing.
4This reminds me of Shia LaBeouf...our little Even Stevens star is trying SO hard to be an action hero, but all anyone can think about is that irritating little brother on the Disney Show. That Disney mold is difficult to break through, so I wish good luck to Hillary Duff and Shia LaBeouf. Hopefully their careers will take off and they won't be forever trying to convince people that they are now adults.
5I like that she tries to et away from the super squeaky clean teeny bopper Disney thing....without doing something like Christina Aguilera's dirty stage. But going from Faye Dunaway to her? I don't know about that.
6Hilary Duff is gorgeous and I hope she portrays Bonnie well. I haven't seen her in many things but she's an amazing celebrity so I hope she does well.

9I liked hilary in War, Inc. Her performance was vulnerable and sweet. This could work- I like that she chooses smaller films.
10I can't believe Hilary is being allowed to desecrate this classic role. Faye Dunaway was so flawless in this movie...no one should be allowed to even think of respinning it
11I think she'd be be a bit better if maybe she did take a few acting lessons or maybe we'll just see her grow in a few more performances. I am just not sure how I feel about this. I hope it's good b/c I'd like to see Kevin Zegers do well, I love him and he's terrifically talented. I hope it would be a decent film, I don't wish for either of them to do bad.
12And didn't she already do a Bonnie photo shoot for like Allure? Maybe Tonya S. Hardy saw the spread and thought she looked pretty as did I.

15Diamond, Hilary did do a Bonnie and Clyde-themed photoshoot in the May '08 issue of Allure and it was beautiful. If nothing else, she'll be a beautiful Bonnie.

19I THINK THESE TWO ACTORS WILL BE A GREAT BONNIE AND CLYDE. I HAVE BEEN STUDYING THE STORY FOR 40 YEARS AND I CAN TELL YOU HILARY WILL MAKE A GOOD BONNIE PARKER. THE GUY KEVIN HAS A SINISTER LOOK ABOUT, SO I THINK HE WILL DO MAKE A GOOD CLYDE. OF COURSE TIME WILL TELL , WHY SHOULD BEATTY AND DUNAWAY TAKE ALL THE CREDIT . THE ORIGINAL BONNIE AND CLYDE IS A TRUE CLASSIC BUT AM GLAD TO SEE HOLLYWOOD MAKING ANOTHER ONE.

Just because it's the majority of roles YOU've seen her in doesn't mean she'll be bad at it. Look at War Inc and so many more of her recent roles. Don't be so quick to judge even if you don't like the outcome people!
