I think it's pretty awesome that while Hollywood is busy congratulating itself on fantastic performances these past two weekends with the Golden Globes and SAG awards, America is meanwhile off to the theaters to see Paul Blart: Mall Cop. I love this country! You can't put us in a box.

Once again the goofy comedy was No. 1 at the box office, followed by newcomer Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. In third place came the Clint Eastwood drama, Gran Torino, which has also been an audience favorite for several weeks.
Hotel for Dogs came in fourth place and the "slumdog" everyone loves to root for, Slumdog Millionaire, rounded out the top five.

lol Mall Cop is funny. We saw it the night it opened.
1And Gran Torino is awesome - saw it this weekend.
Slumdog is brilliant; Gran Torino is on our list for the weekend.
2Mall Cop looks hilarious.
3"Gran Torino" was phenomenal. "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" just looks... uncomfortable.
4I saw it this weekend and it was actually quite funny. We ended up in it by accident b/c the movies that my daughter wanted to see already started. i thought I was going to be bored out of my mind but was quite entertained.
5My Dad said Mall Cop was pretty amusing. He usally never really likes movies like that so it was big coming from him! Kevin Jame is usually pretty funny too.
6I love Kevin James, but this is so the kind of movie I try to avoid...my husband would see it in a heartbeat, on the other hand!
7I am so surprised to see how many people have said Mall Cop is funny! It looks absolutely awful...and I can't believe it has been number 1 for two weeks!
8i have to say, i wasn't expecting much. we basically went to see it because it was filmed at our mall! but....i LOVED it! like, enough to probably buy it when it comes out on dvd. kevin james is hilarious.
9It's JUST ok. I wasn't too impressed with this stupid/funny flick.
