"Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" will be back on the air tonight at 10 p.m., but it's not exactly the victorious return to the schedule many fans were hoping for. NBC didn't pick up the show for a second season, but at least the final six episodes will be airing on TV rather than just online. Interestingly, the show was supposed to air on Thursdays in the first place — until ABC's plans to relocate a pesky little show we like to call "Grey's Anatomy" got in the way.
The set has been torn down, so there's really no hope for the show to return now — but the good news is that six episodes is plenty of time to tie up the characters' stories. The even better news (for me, anyway) is that tonight's return episode guest-stars Allison Janney — better known as Sorkin favorite C.J. Cregg — who I believe can make any show outstanding with her very presence. NBC has a video preview over here, so check it out and let me know if you'll stick with "Studio 60" to the end.

Very cool - It's so disappointing that all the good shows get cancelled. : [
1I'm so sad this one got cancelled
I loved it!
2i love this one too! I read all the criticisms of it but I didn't agree. I thought it was sharp and smart and I loved the interaction between the characters. I thought the group dynamic was great.
3i watched it regularly and really liked the characters. the only thing i didn't like was the messed up love story they had for matt perry's character. i just didn't get the attraction to harriet - considering he hated her politics and disdained her religion. i will be watching to see it wrap up. bradley whitford is one of my favorite TV actors. i hope he gets another good gig!
4I'm so excited this is back on. I was really sad when it was taken off and feel like it didn't get the credit or support it deserved.
5I am happy to see it is back on. It is such a fantastic show. I think NBC need to find a better time slot for it. It is on so late!
6Very upset this show was cancelled, but I am happy to hear they are finally showing the final episodes!
7I've considered the show a massive disappointment since the 2nd episode. But that being said, I'm determined to stick with it until the very end. Just because Sorkin has a mythical reputation doesn't mean that it doesn't take him time to really hit his groove. Here's hoping that these last six episodes redeem the show.
8This show definitely didn't get the recognition it deserved. It seems every time you get a good show with an intelligent story line it gets cancelled. :^(
9Why are all the really great shows cancelled, while shows like the kind of queens gets nine seasons?
10I freaking love this show. I'm glad they're putting it back. I'm just really sad there's no second season.
