First of all, it took me way too long to get the "Prince"/"prints" pun in the name of the family-run company that Michael and Dwight go to visit. But anyway. This week's episode of The Office has Michael grappling with his personal feelings over a business issue while the rest of the office has a formal debate about whether or not Hilary Swank is "hot."

One of my favorite things about this episode? Kevin. He is on fire this episode! So much Kevin goodness. For some of his best lines and other parts of the episode I enjoyed, read more.
- Ha: Jim prank! He runs a red wire from Dwight's desk all the way outside and up a utility pole.
- As they all start arguing over whether or not Hilary Swank is hot, Kevin says, "She looks like a monster." A monster?!
- Wait . . . does this IHOP vs. Denny's argument between Dwight and Michael in the car lead to Dwight calling Michael a socialist? Just checking. Because that's hilarious.
- They practice the signal that means they need to leave: Licking their lips. Which Dwight insists on doing as big and wetly as possible.
- Michael explains that in nature there is something called the food chain, which consists of all sharks eating the smaller sharks until you get down to the "single-cell sharks." If you replace all the "sharks" with "paper companies" in this analogy, it is all you need to know about business.
- Michael gets to know this small, family-run business owner, who opened up shop when he returned from Vietnam. "Oooh, Vietnam. I hear it's lovely."
- See, this is The Office I know and love — some out-of-office stuff while all the remaining employees engage in some kind of inane craziness within the office itself. Such as having a formal debate over whether or not Hilary Swank is hot. Kevin wants to be firm about the differences between "attractive," "beautiful," and "hot." "A painting can be beautiful, but I don't want to bang a painting."
- Michael: "Laughter is my job. Tears are my game. Law is my profession."
- Kevin, after almost being lured by Jim to the "Hot" side: "It's 'is she hot?' Not 'would you do her?' Respect the game."
- Angela doesn't even get the debate — "Hot is a temperature, people" — but she wants Kevin to lose, so she joins the "Hot" team, saying Hilary Swank is hot as heck. "She's a female Boris Becker."
- Kelly is upset because if Hilary Swank's not hot then that means she's not hot because she's not as hot as Hilary Swank! Is it sad that I've thought things like this before?
- Ha! Dwight and Michael waggling their tongues at each other as they are about to leave the office. Then they try to peel out of the parking lot but only end up damaging the car, which only brings out more kindness in the Prince family.
- These presentations for the "Hot" side and the "Not Hot" side are hilarious:
Pam: "Ladies. Are we prepared to let the Kevins of the world decide anything for us? Anything at all? We don't even give him full Internet access." (Kevin: "Wait, what?")
Oscar talks technically about the symmetry of facial features in order to prove that while yes, Hilary Swank is attractive, she's not hot.
Stanley dramatically, passionately says that finding fault with Hilary Swank is "no way to live life." - I love that as Dwight and Michael walk back into the office, Jim's saying "All I'm saying is Kevin's not necessarily a feminist, is all I'm saying."
- Dwight is not familiar with the expression "Live and let live." "It doesn't make any sense . . . of course I'm alive . . ."
- Michael's heart does not want to give David Wallace the list of the Prince's clients. Dwight reminds Michael that his heart makes terrible decisions and Michael agrees. "Jan. . . Ryan. . ."
- Dwight then resorts to telling Michael about Frodo and The Lord of the Rings. But it doesn't work and Michael wants to get rid of the list, so Dwight chases after him and grabs the list, saying that it's business, not personal.
Michael: "I'm not a shark!" - Aw, "bittersweet": Dwight, after Michael gives the client list to David Wallace: "Well guess whose stock just went up, Golden Boy."

Which presentation for "Hot" or "Not Hot" was your favorite? Did you sympathize with the Prince family? Did you like that this episode is pretty much drama-free (no romantic stuff)?

I loved this episode. Back to the basics: prank Dwight, Michael makes an idiot of himself while still managing to do something right for the company, we see all of the characters in the office interacting with one another in a hilarious way. Loves it.
1i hated it it ws so sad
2I'm glad we got to see more of Kevin and Stanley in this episode than we usually get.
3I liked Stan's argument. And Oscar's!
What happened to Ryan again?
4I've had the Hilary Swank discussions with guys before! None of them think she's hot. I agree.
I felt awful for that poor Prince family and Steve Carell was so good in this episode. This was a great example of an episode where Michael is not a total moron. He was more like a regular person and not a joke. I liked it.
Dwight was in his prime.
5I missed the last 2 minutes, who won the debate...
6verrOnica michael walked by and said "who is that? She's HOT!" so team hot won. haha!
7I wasn't a huge fan of this episode...I laughed a few times at the beginning and I loved the Hilary Swank debate, but overall, it wasn't one of the best for me.
8Oh, and my husband and I began to debate about Hilary the show too! LOL. I think she's hot, he doesn't!
9*after the show* was what I meant to say!
10I'm so glad that the Office is returning to the days of awkwardness and inter-office weird debates. The Hilary Swank thing was so random and soooo hilarious! And I love that no matter how awkward and strange Michael is...he has such a kind heart still.
11Michael has such a great heart! I loved Stan's speech as well, and I hope the next episode we'll see further developments on what happens to the Princes; they're such a great family. I didn't mind the lack of romance because I was getting sick of it. I hope the office doesn't become too incestuous. And also, Angela? Really? It's hard for me to believe that she can find anyone who can stand her.
12This is The Office I know and love! I keep saying it hasn't been that great since the strike and they brought it back last night.
13I thought this was so funny and very true to the old Office. I wish that Michael would have won that argument and not given Wallace the list, but Dwight was right, if they didn't ruin the Prince's business, someone else will.
14I didn't really like the episode (the Hilary hot/not hot part) until I read some of your comments. Michael and Dwight are always hilarious. Stanley's understated humor is perfection. But how could we go from Dwight an
15Andy both dumping Angela last week without any reference to it this week?
not my favorite episode but it was still good. I liked the office debate and I love Stanley! Yeah I don't know they didn't mention anything about the Andy/Angela/Dwight triangle. I would have liked to see a little JAM too.
16I loved how the episode started off with the good ol Jim pranking on Dwight. It's been missing some of that for awhile now and I hope it's back to normal now because that's what The Office is about. I loved Michael's compassion for the Prince's, and how Angela called Hilary Swank "hot as heck". Kevin was amazing in this episode I agree. I liked how the Prince's boss had a 'world's best boss' mug as well.
17kevin was on fire!!! i heart kevin. def enjoyed this ep a lot - for once michael wasn't a COMPLETE moron and good 2 know he does have a heart... def bk 2 the old office!
18You're right Buzz, this was a return to classic Office and I loved it. I felt so bad for the Prince family though - I didn't want Michael to do it! Dwight calling Michael a socialist over IHOP and Micheal commenting that he's heard Vietnam is lovely was great. Especially the look on the Prince guy's face when he said it.
19Electricxbaby - my husband and I noticed the mug on Mr. Prince's desk, too - but then we realized that it's actually a "World's Best Dad" mug, instead.
It's an interesting comparison to Micheal's world, if you think about it!
20I loved the start with the Jim prank, and Jim saying "Oh, he'll be fine. I made it up there."
The lips licking and Michael's Veitnam comment were hilarious too, and I loved Pam's face when Kevin said he didn't want to bang a painting.
And personally, my favourite argument was Pam's. "We don't even give him full internet access." Then Kevin's "Wait, what?".
21the 'single-cell shark' line cracked me up.
