It's the last day of the TCA press tour, and ABC is presenting a ton of new midseason series today, including Nathan Fillion's Castle and Amber Tamblyn's The Unusuals. The news has been coming fast and furious, so here are some tidbits from this morning's ABC sessions and yesterday's NBC panels:

- Apparently, we should stop using the term "ghost sex" to describe Izzie and Denny's relationship on Grey's Anatomy, stat. "It's not a ghost, which you will learn," ABC entertainment president Steve McPherson said. He also said skeptical viewers should be patient and wait to see where the story is going: "I actually think that when you get to the end of the season and you see what [creator Shonda Rhimes] had in mind, it might not be your cup of tea, but I think you will be surprised at how insightful and smart the storyline itself is."
- If you were hoping NBC's executives would give some clarity to the Lipstick Jungle cancellation situation, no such luck: According to entertainment president Angela Bromstad, no decision has been reached on the show's future, and it will be a conversation when the network sets its Fall schedule.
- These were pretty much no-brainers, but NBC has renewed The Office, 30 Rock, and The Biggest Loser.
- Count Portia de Rossi in for an Arrested Development movie: Despite calling her new character in ABC's Better Off Ted her all-time favorite, she'd be up for reprising Lindsay Bluth on the big screen. "I would love to do a movie for Arrested," she said — before adding to the confusion surrounding the project by saying "the cast are all on board." If that gets off the ground, she'd be a busy lady: She also wants to start a vegan shoe line.
For info on Heroes, Pushing Daisies, and NBC's late-night lineup, just read more.
- NBC's aware that Heroes needs to change things up: "Tim [Kring] and I have talked to getting back to the core of the show, that it's these ordinary people with extraordinary powers, and that they may have taken on too much in terms of the storyline," Bromstad said.
- McPherson was sadly noncommittal on the future of the unaired episodes of Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, and Eli Stone. He said he's hopeful they'll get out somehow, but there would be lots of financial issues and rights issues to deal with first.
- Jimmy Fallon snapped a picture of the TCA crowd with his iPhone and said he'd be bringing a decidedly geeky feel to his version of Late Night when he takes over in March.
- Apparently, we needn't fear that moving to an earlier time slot will make Conan O'Brien tame: "I like to stand on things. I like to lick things. I jump around," he said — and none of that is going away. He also said he's hoping his band will make the move to LA with him. As for his Late Night farewell, he said he's aware that longtime fans will want certain things, but "what I don't want to do is a big salute to me."
- Rachel Maddow, who was here to chat about her MSNBC talk show, on President Bush's post-presidency plans: "No international travel, probably, for the rest of his life."

Well, I am waiting to be surprised by Shondra Rhimes; until season's end, I will still hate the Denny/Izzie storyline. Thanks for all the TCA updates, Buzz.
1what's TCA and why don't you have that explained up there?
2willowdiamond — TCA is a twice-yearly gathering of TV critics and network producers and stars. If you follow that link, you can see everything we've been posting this week. Here's the first one that has a little more explanation, and here's another take on it from last year.
3ah thank you!
also ghost sex is one of the greatest terms that should be used on Supernatural.
4I can't wait for The Unusuals and Castle and Cupid. ABC's mid-season sched is fantastic, despite the absence of Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money.
It'll be interesting to see Harold Perrineau in a new role, and fun to see Adam Goldberg back on TV.
5I'm gonna keep calling it ghost sex, because Denny is NOT ALIVE. Maybe he's a hallucination, but if it annoys Shonda to call him a ghost, all the better.
6yay!!go denny-izzie storyline!!haha I know there is something hiden in all this story. and I love it!so painful...awesome!
7So the Izzie/Denny thing is going to go on ALL SEASON? My brain just exploded a little.
8Regarding Izzie/Denny relationship, something tells me that Shonda created this storyline to show that Izzie might be suffering from a “brain tumor” which makes her see Denny everywhere, and imagine doing things with him. Or Denny might be izzie’s guarding Angel and he is watching over her until she recovers from her sickness “brain tumor”. That’s the only explanation I have for Shonda’s “insightful and smart storyline”. I hope am wrong and her storyline would be something else and totally unpredictable.
9i thought izzie broke up with denny...?
10I surely hope Lipstick Jungle won't get cancelled. Love that show.
11so i thought the whole denny thing was a hallucination.. but then at the end of thursday's episode, they showed denny say something to alex (alex didn't respond) when izzie left the room..
12which makes me believe he's a ghost..
very confusing and weird..
Yay Arrested Development! Because there's money in the banana stand...
13I just want to watch the last few episodes of Pushing Daisies! I can't believe we have to wait until summer (if at all).
14@ tlsgirl & sundew: completely agree with you.
i will continue to call it ghost sex, and if i have to keep watching the izzie/denny storyline all season (in which i thought she "broke" up with him)... i was just starting to like the last 2 ep's, don't piss me off
