Director Danny Boyle won this year's Golden Globe Award for his work on Slumdog Millionaire. The other nominees in this category included Stephen Daldry (The Reader), David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon), and Sam Mendes (Revolutionary Road).

I'm surprised actually. I thought they were going to give it to Ron. But I am not saying this win was undeserving.
1Deserved but I wish Ron would have gotten it. Glad it didn't go to Benjamin Button though.

8I liked "Benjamin Button so much," and I was really pulling for David Fincher just because I love his work, but I'm almost glad that he didn't win for this one. I love everything he does, and "Benjamin Button" was no exception, but to me, it's not really exemplary of the kind of work he does. Where the hell were the Golden Globes and the Oscars when he did "Zodiac" and "Fight Club"?! Ugh.
9i think that this movie had a lot of great stuff going on and if the director could get recognized for it, then more power to them. i'm pleased with this.
10The direction in this movie was superb. Just knowing that he spent ~8 months filming in the slums and the fact that most of the actors, except the main four, were pulled from the slums makes it all the more impressive. What he did with the story and the rush of emotion while in a city that won't stop no matter what is amazing.
