You know its not bad. I didn't think it was hilarious but its just the first episode. I do love Toni Collette though

Thanks, Buzz. I liked this first episode more than I thought I would. Toni Collete is one of my favorites; I hope the series does well for her.

I liked that, especially more towards the end of the episode. If I remember I might watch more of it.

I watched this streaming on the Showtime website a few days back and was so disappointed with it. I think that's mainly because of the high expectation of a series starring Toni Colette, and apprehension for a series penned by Diablo Cody (Juno was great, but I'm not totally sold on Cody's alleged genius yet). It has potential, and is worth giving it another shot. But, at first I couldn't even make it past the first half of the pilot before I wanted to continue surfing elsewhere or catch up on reading instead. I'll wait for the second episode to see if it picks up.

i didn't think it was really "funny," but i enjoyed it nevertheless. too bad, i don't have showtime reguarly.

I liked it and Toni Collette is a great actress. I will have to watch the reruns on the weekends when I'm home from college...I don't get showtime when I'm at school.

I liked it. It was funny but not really lol funny. However, that fight scene cracked me up.

The first episode was pretty good,, it wasn't laugh-out-loud funny but it was amusing.

I liked it a lot almost enough to consider adding Showtime to my cable line up. I don't think it's meant to be laugh out loud funny. I mean there are some real issues and it's kind of heartbreaking at times. I love John Corbett and I think he is an awesome choice for the husband. Toni Collette has been one of my faves since Muriel's Wedding and I think she will be able to tackle this character's characters without making it seems schmaltzy.

I agree about the show not being LOL funny,but i think it is more of a drama with comedy sprinkled in!

I also think that the pilot episodes never really show how good a show is so I you have to keep watching to see it what they are really like!

Now about the show,this show alone makes me want to beg my mom to order Showtime!

I really liked it and I liked how Buck really did care for the family and that he defended Kate's Honor!

Did anyone get this weird vibe from the Aunt Charmaine when she was flirting with the Dad?

She brushed off Tara's illness as if she were doing it on purpose!

Also did anyone else think it was weird how Kate acted when her mom was trying to help her !

She kept saying "everyone is looking at me " and I looked in the background and NO ONE was looking at them!

I took it as in all teens act this way,they hate the idea of being embarrassed, or she may have her own set of mental issues.

I would love it if someone would answer my questions or commented !

Apparently Showtime doesn't want to know the REAL facts about DID, and what a person who has DID struggles with on an hourly basis. I feel insulted to have received an obvious "form email letter" in response to my heartfelt email to Showtime. What I saw in the first episode, is that Mr. Spielberg is using "sex, sex, and more sex", to sell a series.

At least with the massive number of anti-Tara emails that Showtime obviously has received from DID sufferers, they have included an "informative" video from Dr. Kluft; however, even in his short documentary, he did not address the magnitude of the horrific childhood sexual abuse that causes Dissociative Identity Disorder. The so called "consultant" that the writer, Diablo Cody is conferring with, had DDNOS, not DID. Apples and oranges... sigh.

Imagine for a moment, if you can: A new Showtime series called, "The Deformed State of Tara" - a COMEDY about a girl who confronts comedic situations in her every day life revolving around her dealing with her inability to climb stairs, her sexual encounters, and her comedic experiences with people staring at her scarred and deformed face and arms. (As a child, her parents had physically abused her so intensely, that her repeatedly broken bones resulted in a leg amputation, and the repeated burns the parents inflicted on her arms and face resulted in grotesque scarring which made her face appear as almost inhuman.)

This scenario is NO DIFFERENT than creating a "COMEDY" about a person who suffers from a disorder caused by repeated, early childhood RAPE AND INCEST. One might say that the results of childhood physical abuse are apparent to outsiders, but the results of childhood sexual abuse resulting in Dissociative Identity Disorder are also readily apparent to others in public. Raping young children is NOT comedic.

Did alcoholics gripe and whine when Cheers was on the air possibly not displaying them in just the right light??? No.

Did slobs write emails complaining about being offended by the entire cast of Rosanne??? No.

Did racists complain about the weekly remarks of Archie Bunker when All In The Family was in prime time??? N-er well okay Yeah they may have.

Point is, and stop me if you've ever heard this before...in fact, you may even told someone who bad mouthed one of the Lifetime television movies this yourself. If you don't like it, you don't watch it.
