With the start of 2009 comes the chance to make another batch of New Year's resolutions (here's hoping you haven't already broken yours!). Every year, I find that a few of my resolutions are entertainment related, and this year is no exception. In 2009, I resolve to see all the Oscar-nominated movies before the Oscars, keep a list of all the books I read, and delete programs from my DVR if I haven't watched them within a month. What about you?

Ive resolved to go to a Drive-In Theater, once this year. Before they are all gone. Ive never been to one as an adult. At last report there were less than a hundred left in the whole country. But, I am spoiled with the digital surround sound of indoor theaters. So it will probably be the last time.
I want to support the local film festivals this year as well. And like Buzz, figure a way not to miss any Oscar nominated films before the awards.
Cheers~ Grantz
p.s not miss any work because of late night Big Brother
1To read more. I do keep an Excel spreadsheet of the books I read, and 2008, while phenomenal in so many other ways, was a very bad year for reading for me. So my goal is to read more than I did last year.
2To mess less with my netflix queue. AND to read the books I already own (but haven't read) versus buying new ones.
3I resolved to find at least 2 new bands each month that I like to expand my music repertoire.
If you want to keep a list of books, consider using Goodreads... www.goodreads.com it's an easy way to keep track - it will integrate with Facebook if you want it to and you can keep up on what your friends are reading too - if you want.
4I haven't yet, but I am intrigued by this idea. I am such a major Oscar enthusiast that I like to make lists of the nominees: My picks of who should win and who will win. But maybe I could go even further out on a limb and create lists of who I feel should have been nominated instead, or even make a list of predictions before the nominees are announced. Yeah, the Oscars bring out the film dork in me
But seeing the nominated performances and movies before the ceremony is a good, easy start.
5At first I was like: huh? Entertainment resolutions?
6But I really like the ones you have Buzz and I think I'll steal them if you don't mind
hmm i like that idea of the movies before the oscars, i might do that one. Also one of my resolutions is to read more in 2009; need to finish the sookie stackhouse novels
7Love your suggestions, Buzz! I, too, would like to see all of the Oscar nominated movies before the awards and delete all those recorded shows that I'll probably never get around to watching. A third resolution: definitely read more.
8My resolution was to watch less TV this year, so far it's not going so well.
9AMC has an Oscar showcase every year with all of the films nominated for best picture. It's on a random Saturday before the Oscars and it's a long day, but it's a ton of fun! I'm hoping they do it again this year.
10Mine was to watch my netflix movies the week I get them in the mail. I once had one for 7 weeks.
111.) Watch all of the Oscar nominated films before the Academy Awards (2.) read more books this year.
12I cancelled my cable, internet, dvr, home phone, and Netflix to save money. I am planning to use part of my extra time to read more and to watch some of the dvds I already own.
