Tonight on ABC another eligible single will take to the small screen to find fame everlasting love — and a stepmother for his child. Yes, for the first time ever, the man of the hour is a single dad. If you watched The Bachelorette, you may recognize this guy, Jason Mesnick, as the one DeAnna Pappas didn't choose right after he told her how much he loved her. In other words, he was jilted!
The whole thing made Jason a fan favorite, which will likely help with ratings. Plus, as a Seattle divorcée raising his son Ty, there's a little twist to his story that might make this season more interesting than usual. Despite how improbable it seems that one might find his/her soul mate on reality television, I still find myself drawn to this show.
What about you? Will you be tuning in to the season premiere tonight?

i would watch this show if gossip girl wasn't on at the same time. i remember him from the last season.
1Yeah Gossip Girl ftw!
2I loved Jason and was heart-broken for him when Deanna chose Jesse (even though I was happy for Jesse). In the long run, I'm glad Deanna didn't choose Jason, as it appears he is better off without her (she dumped Jesse and reports are that she's a self-serving attention-grabbing bee-yotch (but now I'm heart-broken for Jesse)).
3gosh no! I can't believe it is still on the air.
4I am ashamed to admit that I love the bachelor every season and was pissed that Deanna ended up with Jesse (simply bc I wanted Jesse
haha) but honestly, Jason is a great guy to be bachelor, he seems very cool, honest, and like
he will really choose a nice, committed girl and not a b*tch (ie. Deanna).
5I refuse to watch this show, this is it's 13th season ( I think), and there has not been one person of color as the bachelor or bachelorette. As a person of color I find it kind of offensive. If there has been a person of color, please feel free to correct me.
6There has not been a person of color as the main bachelor, but there has been contestants "of color".... in all honesty, it never seems discriminatory, so why must there be a person of color?
7BTW-- Deanna comes back!? WHAT!?
8tivo'd, will watch in the a.m. But I caught the last 5 min recap and Deanna is back! ugh!
9i can't watch anymore, it weirds me out to see the butt kissing and back biting of the women.
10this is one of my favorite shows and i'm always a sucker for finding out if there's a happy ending. we were JUST talking about it at the 'water cooler' this morning and i didn't realize that deanna comes back to the show for him, so that's an element that i can't wait to see. i have my thoughts on who will be the top 4...we'll see if i'm right.
11I completely agree with Curlywhirl. It's EXTREMELY discriminatory!!! And I refuse to watch it!
12i saw the previews too and saw that Deanna comes back for a visit. This is what intrigued me - so I am going to try to watch and see what cat fights erupt when this happens. It already looks juicy.
13I agree it would be nice to see a more varied choice in terms of race, but they can only choose from the people who apply.
14I can't believe they are letting Deanna back on this show...but I have a feeling the editing showed in the clips will be a lot different than why she is really there. Just to give him advice or something maybe?? Still...very annoying
15No. I still don't get the appeal of this show.
1613 seasons later and I'm sure that a very diverse group of "doing well" men have indeed applied.
It's as if the ABC suits are afraid that the American public isn't ready for non-Caucasian love...it's sad.
17I stopped watching The Bachelor many seasons ago. It was really annoying to eatch these Bachelors dump the girls they picked after only a few weeks/months. The only people who are married are Trista & Ryan (married with one kid and expecting their 2nd), and Charlie O'Connell who got back together recently with Sarah Brice. Those odds are not very good IMO.
18if the commercials are realistic to what actually will happen later in the season, Deanna is one crazy biotch! my mom thinks they will being her back as a contestant...that's what she got from the teaser
19good god, please say no. she has had her shot! this is her THIRD time on a show! she was also a contestant one time. uhhh and no one (of the girls) liked her. they all thought she was a b*tch back thent oo.
cagirl, Mary and Byron are still together, too. And Meredith and Ian were together for over a year, I think. Not a marriage, but I'd still say a successful relationship.
skigirl, it's edited to make it look like Deanna comes back for him and like she's a contestant, but it's just how they edited the teaser. If you listen to just what she actually says, it sounds more like she's there just to advise him not to propose, that she made a mistake by getting into an engagement too fast.
20And in case you can't tell, I love this show. The very definition of guilty pleasure!
21I honestly don't think she is on the show to win him back, but to give him advice. If she was really going to stay on that show, there would be so much buzz in the media, and frankly there hasn't been. The network is just being a tease.
