Every other Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. The reader who submits the best cast wins a BuzzSugar t-shirt!
Guess who's coming to DVD for the first time? Oh, I guess the picture gave it away: Blossom! Seasons one and two will hit stores on Jan. 27. In light of this momentous occasion, I thought we could try our hand at recasting the show.
Who could play level-headed teen with a flair for fashion, Blossom Russo (originally played by Mayim Bialik)? And then there's her family: Brothers Joey ("Whoa!") and recovering alcoholic and drug addict Anthony, and their dad Nick, who's doing the best he can to raise the three kids. Finally, the series really would not have been the same without Blossom's energetic friend Six (played by Jenna von Oÿ who was really impressive at talking at the speed of light).

5This IS super hard! I feel the new cast would need to be totally teeny-bopper, the same way the old cast was. So here are my picks:

I was originally going to pick Matthew Settle! Love the Zach Braff choice! The others...let's just say I'm not into the Disney crowd!
7I'm not into the Disney crowd in a Blossom recast, even if that's not actually being rehashed. Miley Cyrus as Blossom is just wrong and I'm not even saying that because I find her annoying. She just would completely wrong for it. Blossom isn't supposed to a perky teeny bopper.
8I forgot to add after perky teenbopper, who seems like the type of girl to spend more time in the mall and less time reading something that isn't a magazine.

What I like about Miley Cyrus as Blossom is that she has that ugly pretty thing going on. If she can act (and I'm not sure she can), she doesn't have to be the girl who would rather shop than read. She can be whatever she wants to be, and I think she could totally be Blossom in her attitude and look! You don't have to be into the Disney choices. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of those Disney shoes (I just like the cartoons for my kid), but I think they have the looks that are perfect for the roles. Plus, as I mentioned, Blossom was a teeny bopper show, so I think it should remain a teeny bopper show.
