It certainly doesn't take long for a song to get covered these days! It's only been a few weeks since we first heard Britney Spears's "Womanizer," and British star Lily Allen has just released her own, slightly slowed down version.
I was actually surprised by how faithful Allen's version (which apparently has gotten her in a bunch of trouble with her record label!) is to the original — a few fewer vocal effects, maybe, and a little more downbeat, sort of "Lily Allen sings 'Womanizer' in a piano bar." I could see myself listening to it, but at the same time, there's just that special Britney energy to the original. Take a listen to both versions and let me know: Which "Womanizer" wins?

i like lilys version better because it actually sounds a like a person singing whereas brittneys version sounds like a robot.
1Lily's version is cool, I actually hate the song is kinda stupid! I prefer "Circus".
2I voted for Lily, because she does make the song more appealing. But then I realized, I just don't really like this song.

34I often enjoy Britney's music to dance to, and if I were looking to do that, I'd like both versions. But I don't really like "Womanizer" as a dance song for some reason (bleh), and therefore I'm not interested in listening to Britney's version. It got old in one minute...too repetitive.
However, Lily's version is much more interesting to me, and I actually listen to it. I do think, however, that her "womanizer womanizer..." part sounds a little too low/flat for the song. Annoys me just a bit.
35Lily's because it's her talent not some producer using a computer. I think Britney has no talent and without that amazing team of producers behind her she is worthless. Lily Allen can actually hold a note which I look for in song. But Britney's version is great for a club.
