i'm surprised that Girls Aloud is on the list here since i'm not sure that a lot of folks here in the US are as familiar. anyway, i had to say britney - i listen to it every day and i really
like it.
I hated britneys new album and i was so excited to get it. I also don't like any of the other albums on this list... how depressing... what is happening to the entertainment industry??
There are only 3 true contenders for this competition - everyone else is flash, trash and totally studio manufactured... and isn't one MAJOR requirement of being a vocalist or singer ACTUALLY
BEING ABLE TO SING? It's what is dumbing down the whole pop genre - the emphasis on the cute, the pretty, the falshy/trash w/NO SUBSTANCE...

I give Estelle props... she and Kanye West had a nice duo in American Boy... but outside of Beyonce, Leona and David, the rest of those "pop" singers suck - and everyone knows it!

I love both David Archuleta and Britney Spears' albums. But since I can only choose one, I picked Britney cos her album is really catchy and fun to dance to. But David A came in close 2nd.

I had never heard of David Archuleta, but I listened to his album and wow I have to say I was impressed with his vocals! Clear, excellent pitch and great falsettos. Review it with an open
mind and you'll see what I'm talking about! There's a difference between a singer and a performer and finally I find an album that has substance! My vote went to him.

Half of Beyonce's album sucks, Britney's is lackluster, Madonna's suffered a backlash due to her age and the hip hop direction in spite of a few really quality songs on it. Leona's was an
absolute horrible waste of money. I never bought Katy's because of the horrible reviews, but I did like the two singles.
IT was a blah, unfocused year for albums, but the singles were at least great.

In the case of Leona & David, it's odd that they both came from singing competitions. And, they both show their heart & passion into their music. Maybe the contestants really live for
