It's been a year and a half since we said goodbye to Stars Hollow, but we'll soon get to say hello to Lauren Graham on our TV screens once again. The Gilmore Girls star has signed on for her first primetime gig since the end of Gilmore, playing the lead in an untitled ABC comedy.
According to Variety, Graham's character is "a self-help guru who teaches women how to live a stress-free life — but struggles to follow her own advice when her boyfriend dumps her." The show's creator, Alex Herschlag, worked on Will and Grace, Andy Barker, PI, and Fox's upcoming Sit Down, Shut Up.
Graham signed a huge development deal with NBC last year, but because of the writers' strike, nothing ever came of it. It sounded like she wanted to move back into doing comedy, though, so I'm glad ABC came along with a project that sounded good to her.
Until then, lucky New Yorkers (or those willing to travel) can check out Graham playing Adelaide in an upcoming revival of Guys and Dolls starting in February. Looks like 2009 should be a good year for her!

Yay!!! I can't wait to see her back on TV!
1Didn't we see this show when it was called "Men In Trees"?
2HAPPY!! She is awesome.
3The show sounds lame. But I this she is awesome so I hope it turns out well!
4Good news! Hope it's better than expected...
5Sound Great I love Lauren Graham. I will watch anything she is on.
6yea for more loreli!!!
7I hope this show doesn't turn out as bad as it sounds. "Woman who can't get her life together, mostly in the romance dept" is getting kinda old.
8Man, I wish it would have stayed on NBC. ABC has a knack for shows being really crappy and sinking or just not promoting them. NBC ftw!
9I might watch if she the character acts like a adult and not like a spoiled child on Gilmore Girls. Which she was but would never own up to it.
10huh - i'll have to check her out in guys and dolls (speaking of which - didn't tom cruise say on leno last night that it was the one show that he did in high school?) anyway, that's one of the good things about being in NYC - i get to see her.
anyway, i can't wait to see her back on TV and i hope that this show comes to fruition. she's always been one of my favorites and i hope that his doesn't fall through.
11I can't wait!! I love her.
12can't wait to see her in guys and dolls! i already got tickets!
13Sounds good I'm excited, I just hope it isn't all relationship drama.
14I miss Gilmore Girls, I miss Men In Trees...maybe this will fill the void for both.
15Yeah it does sound a lot like Men In Trees...I'll probably check it out though because I like Lauren Graham.
16I love her. She's so gorgeous and she looks so young. I was never really in to Gilmore Girls but I might try again just because I love Lauren and Alexis.
17I'm glad someone else thought it reminded them of Men in Trees. Unfortunately I didn't like that show. I doubt this will last long either even though I am a huge fan of Lauren Graham. Hopefully the next project will be better...or they will scrap this idea and do something good- like keep Pushing Daisies and give her a long guest-stint. That would be great!
18*sigh* I love Lauren Graham but this show does not sound good. How about we just bring back Gilmore Girls instead? Rory would just be ending her stint on the Obama press tour!
