Love the news about the David Foster Wallace book. Can't wait to see the ratings for Wipeout!
1Who the frick is making decisions at ABC? They're going to put on one of their summer filler reality shows after the superbowl, totally disregarding the huge growth opportunity for one of their existing scripted series? The boost the bowl always brings to shows would do wonders for ABC which is struggling to find a new hit series to accompany Lost, Desperate Housewives and (the declining--in quality and viewership) Grey's Anatomy.
The Unusuals and Castle, from what I've heard of them, are new shows that would do very well with the viewership injection the bowl gives. Life on Mars would be a great show to air after the superbowl as well. Even throwing on Desperate Housewives would make more sense than Wipeout.
So this past year since the writers strike, ABC de-gays Grey's (in several ways), they cancel Pushing Daisies, Dirty Sexy Money, Boston Legal and Eli Stone (two of which are Greg Berlanti produced shows) driving Brian Fuller and David E. Kelley away from the net, and they put on a poo-y reality competition in the most coveted timeslot of the year.
2Comedic bounty hunter movie?? Isn't that how Brad fell in love with Angie? I'm pretty sure that is what they have not so subtly been reminding us of the last few weeks.
