Ah, "Gilmore Girls." You have served us well! The series finale this week included all our favorite things: crazy townspeople antics, Rory-Loralei speed-talking conversations and some Loralei-Luke excitement. It's sort of like they've been honing their hearstring-pulling ways for seven years, just to make this final episode. When Rory says to Loralei "Mom, you've given me everything I need," was there a dry eye in the house? I think not. To relive some of last night's bittersweet moments, read more
Some of my favorite parts:
- Kirk, placing Rory's sash on her, saying, "I made it out of my mom's old nightgowns."
- Normally, I would have said the whole Loralei-Luke kiss thing felt really rushed, but those "Gilmore Girls" writers are forgiven in the spirit of series finales.
- Loralei, intending to say she should have gotten Rory a traveling coffee mug, exclaims, "I should have gotten you a sippy cup!"
- I love Loralei's reasoning for why Rory should sit in the back of the bus, where "people just tend to be more chatty."
- I take comfort in the fact that Loralei will continue going to her parents for the Friday night dinners. It makes me feel like this isn't the end; we may not see it, but life in Stars Hollow will continue as usual.
What did you think of the series finale of "Gilmore Girls"?

I cannot believe the show lasted as long as it did! Truely a horror and the language..not even believeable!
1I thought the series finale was great. The only thing I would have liked to see was a touching moment between Loralei and Sookie.
2Was it just me, or was there definitely a vibe that they already knew this was going to be the last ever episode?
3I' not going to lie I totally teared up when Rory was talking to Lane, when Rory did her speech and when Emily and Lorelai were talking.
there definitely was a vibe! well at least i felt it.
4i am going to miss this show soo much! it's like losing a friend!!
I will miss this show so much! I will miss the mother-daughter banter! My favorite series!!!!
5There was difinately a vibe, perhaps it was a re-shoot or an added scene.
6I was very disappointed with the episode as a whole though. It seemed like just an ordinary season finale and not much more. I was expecting a little something like the final say 3-5 minutes of The OC. A look into the future.
In any case, I'm glad it was around as long as it was. It was sad to see it go.
I can't believe they didn't give any resolution to the Rory/Logan thing...
I just want one more season...
7Loved it but hated it because it was the end. I have always loved this show.
8The resolution to the Riory Logan thing is that they have broke up. Chapter Over. Rory is focusing on work and Logan is doing his thing.
But I can relate - any excuse for another season is good for me ;0)~
9Holy bad grammar and spelling batman.
Riory = Rory
they have broke up = they have broken up
10i really liked the series finale. it was simple. they didnt do the "one year later" crap. which made it more better..
im gonna miss this show a lot. =[
oh and i have a question :: is Alexis Bledel still going out with Milo (the guy from heroes)??
11I'm too sad to talk about it.
12I am so sad this show is gone. What will I watch instead?
13i loved the finale, but it made me sad, because it was the finale of a pretty great show. sniff!
14i thought it was okay. i haven't seen the show in awhile, cause i couldn't stand logan and i'm glad rory didn't end up with him. but it didn't really feel resolved for me.
and no alexis isn't dating milo anymore.
15to itchyworm: she came into a store where I work a few months ago and wasn't with Milo, but some guy who was Nick Zano-ish and definitely her boyfriend. he seemed vaguely familiar but was nowhere near as hot as Milo V.
16I only wish there had been more attention given to Luke and Lorelai. After so many years of "will they, won't they?" it's left up to our imagination....left me wanting more. A focus on Rory leaving was appropriate, but ended up dominating so much that too many loose ends were left for the rest of the cast. Christopher wasn't even at the going away party!! It was truly one-of-a-kind and I'll miss it!
17I am crushed that it's over. I will miss my Stars Hollow fix. I'm not completely delusional - I know these characters were not real people - but still....
18I am so sad....but, I think they ended it well.I thought it was the first great episode in a LONG time too. BuzzSugar, I TOTALLY loved Kirk saying the sash was from his mom's nightie...I laughed hard for a good 5 minutes.
19me too that classic kirk comment, love it!
so sad though
sippy cup!
20ok anyone else crying watching the last episode? i know i was. It was so sadd thinking that its over haha. But the ending was just a huge cliffhanger which kinda made me upset.I mean they could have kinda fast forwarded like 5 yrs later on there lives then end..but oh well
21Ohhh my Gilmores... it was a reshoot, correct? I am almost positive I heard that somewhere... In any case, I thought it was good, but could have been better if a) they brought back Amy Sherman-Palladino to take care of the last details and b) if it had been two hours. Ohhh still crying...miss them already!
22The fact that the last show was taped before they were aware that it would be the series finale, definitely left something missing. This entire last season has been speeding through plot lines in an attempt at tieing up neat little bows on certain storylines. However, one of the most important, Luke and Lorelai, wasn't treated as many would have liked it to be.
However, I did like that it ended the exact same way that episode 1 from season 1 ended. That was a nice touch.
23I cried so freakin' hard at the end. I thought the ending point made perfect sense, though.
24all good things must come to an end... This was one of my favorite shows... but at least i was fortunate enough to visit the Gilmore Set i got to be in Stars Hollow, and i even got to see Lauren Graham riding her bike back from make up, and i saw Scott(whom i recognized because he was wearing his Luke cap and flannel shirt) also twice and i got to yell at him and he waved back such a funny crazy moment.
25I'm probably in the minority here, but I thought that the episode worked amazingly well as a series finale, especially when you consider that it wasn't filmed as one. I liked that the series didn't end with some stupid Rory & Lorelei double wedding or something. I even liked that Lorelei and Luke were left with just the implication that they get back together. I think that the point of the show was always a mother and daughter with this great relationship and I think the end of the show really was true to that spirit.
26well this last season was not as good due to the new writers but i'm still sad to say good bye.
27I think I cried four times. I don't know what I'm going to do on Tuesdays anymore.
28What do you mean Stars Hollow wasn't real?!?!? I know I am delusional. I'm just tore up about this whole thing... very sad. I really, really want one more season!
29I cried through most of the episode... I wish they would have made it 2 hours though. It just seemed that they really rushed to tie everything up. So sad to see this go.
30The Series finale was sad. I love how it ends though...at the diner. Very sweet. I am going to miss the Gilmores.
31Sniff, I'm tearing up just thinking that I'll never see them again (except in reruns and on my DVDs).
32sippy cup...ha ha!! it just seemed like a season finale though. like they just threw the last 3 minutes on......was a bit disappointed, but i still love my girls.
33sippy cup...ha ha!! it just seemed like a season finale though. like they just threw the last 3 minutes on......was a bit disappointed, but i still love my girls.
34I teared up through the whole episode! The part that really got me was when Emily realized that they were having the "final" Friday night dinner....I get teary just thinking about it! I am really going to miss this show. It would have been nice to see Chris one more time and have some peace with all of that also....oh well. It was still an amazing finale to an amazing show. I am going to miss all the movie refrences!
35So my husband thought I was pathetic, but I would always sing the theme song in the beginning "Where you Lead - I will follow"... so I was so sad to hear it the last time - I sang it at the top of my lungs!!!!!!!!
36oh man, I am so going to miss these girls... they are like friends to me! hahaha JK but still, I just have to say my last goodbye, its so weird that its gone though... I agree with the comment that it seemed a testimate to the mother daughter relationship to end it this way instead of making a fuss about old boyfriends and weddings.
37I still don't realize that my favorite show is gone....
38I'm a little dissapointed by the end but it worked great anyway...
It ended... I wish there was more!
39I think it was soooo stupid the way the show ended...
40It was boring...
I was in a state of shock while watching the finale. I still just couldn't believe it was over. The feelings I felt were similar to when Friends went off the air. I liked the episode, I think they tied up loose ends with Rory well, but I think some of the other characters didn't get a great ending. I agree that Sookie deserved a better ending (but I guess it's safe to assume that the Inn will go on as normal). Gilmore Girls will remain number 1 on my Tivo season pass even though there are now only reruns, it's my sorta little tribute to my favorite show these past years.
41i didnt watch it...and havent for like 2 years now
42but if it was a good ending then maybe ill just see the dvd wen it comes out..
I loved this show. I am so sad to see it go.
43i'm sad. i wish it would have gone on another season. i want to know what the characters will be doing with their lives. yeah, the peak into the future is kinda lame but it finishes things for me.
44someone mentioned how they ended The OC, i agree, they should have done that. just to make me feel better at least.
bye
I was disappointed because I had totally convinced myself that Jess would make a reappearance, just for the finale, but he didn't (I'll just have to assume that he and Rory run into each other sometime down the road and live happily ever after). Aside from that, though, I thought it was a really sweet, albeit super predictable, last episode. I wish they'd made it a little more fun, a little less sappy, but that's alright. I'm going to miss this show, but I don't know how they ever thought they could turn this into another season!
45I thought the finale was horrible. There was no closure to any of the plot lines. 3 Years they develop rory and logan and in one sentence they are over? One second rory doesnt have a job and the next she does? Luke and Lorelai seasons of confusion and now a necklace and a glance is supposed to suffice.
Not to say that I am a crazy fan or anything...but the finale did a disservice to all of the fans. Everyone accepts that it is over...just give the fans some sort of closure...it was on for 7 seasons.
Am I the only one that thinks it sucked?
46Wow, what to say? Gilmore girls is my absolute favorite show, and to see it end was a true dissapointment. It was always a girl's night w/ chinese (takeout) every Tuesday as we watched Lorelei & Rory...The ending for me was too much of a cliffhanger and I so wanted more. The whole Rory & Logan breakup was a HUGE dissapointment for me because their relationship went from perfect to nothing, & that just sucked!
I don't know, I guess I just wanted the show to go forver and now it's not. My most touching moment of the last episode was when Lorelei told Rory she wanted to get her a "sippy" coffee cup and Rory told her she had given her everything she needed...I completely lost it--I was crying like a baby.
I can only hope Rory changes her mind and decides to do at least a mini season---PLEASE!!!!
47I cried as soon as it started and didn't stop til the end. I thought it really did the show justice. Nothing over the top or unbelievable. I knew this show couldn't last forever, no show can. And I was worried that after Rory graduated Yale they'd do something lame to keep her around and it wouldn't be right. I'm just sad I won't get to see Lane's babies grow up or Luke and Lorelai finally getting married. I'm sad that there's no more stars hollow and that tuesday night is going to be something totally different now.
48since they shot it before they knew the show was over it was good for what it was. i wish i could have seen if rorys career was great for her. the end of rory and logan was a bit too empty-ended for me... if that makes sense. it was just too easy for him to say goodbye.
i did love how the show ended with them in the same place as they were in the pilot episode. talking at a table for two with luke in the background. wonderful!
i'll miss it but i won't not be able to handle my tuesdays anymore haha.
:*(
49i agree with people who said they liked it because the writers didnt throw in anything weird or stupid like dual weddings...it just seems right..of course i wish amy sherman palladino had stuck around and it could continue!!!!
