As my Best of 2008 series continues, I'm asking today about sci fi TV shows. They stretch the boundaries of science, take us to new worlds, and occasionally creep us out a little (or maybe that's just me). Which of these shows is the year's best?

I'm gonna go with Fringe! Every episode gets better and better.
1bsg
2I wouldn't call Supernatural sci-fi, but it's definitely my fave!
3no fracking question...
4BSG
that was supposed to be BSG
5ack! It keeps cutting me off. I had three hearts next to the BSG then it said BSG wins anything hands down!
6BSG frak yes!
7I like Fringe and I am trying to like Terminator (bc of Brian austin green, I KNOW I am a
.
8Maybe I don't like sci-fi as much as I thought, bc I don't watch any of these shows. Gimme Star Trek any day, lol.
9BSG forever, I'm going to be so sad when its over, but I still can't wait for the next season!
10Frak. It's Battlestar Galactica, of course!
I feel so upset
knowing that this is the last season
My no.2 was Heroes...
Unfortunately, there's no more good Star Trek series around anymo'. I use to love 'em.
11Fringe, with Heroes in a close second.
12I haven't seen most of the ones on the list, so I can't really compare...
I voted Supernatural! The show is great. I laugh in every episode! The Winchester boys are so friggin hilarious.
13Battlestar fraking Galactica.
14Gotta love Supernatural.
15Frakin Battlestar all the way!! Terminator gets 2nd place only b\c it's the only other show on the list I watch, though this season has been the pits.
16I love Heroes but Fringe is the best. It's better every weeks.
17Supernatural
18Why isn't Lost on this list?
19i had to say that fringe is my favorite from this year. the others all seem like they were trying to hard or just completely lost my interest, but fringe didn't do that at all. i'm still into it!
20I'm torn between BSG, Supernatural and Terminator...
21Supernatural is the best sci-fi show EVER!!!! Does Lost qualify as sci-fi?
22Battle Star Galactica!!!
23I wish more people were watching the Sarah Connor Chronicles! It's the best show to come along since LOST in my opinion. Fringe is okay too but doesn't have the depth of the SCC.
24oh man, I don't think I can vote. Too many of my faves are on here.
25Fringe ! Heroes is close behind.
26Doctor Who! Where is this on the list?!
27SUPERNATURAL,my favourite show!
28Fringe all the way.
Heroes totally comes in second. Brian Austen Green could tramp
around naked and I still wouldn't watch that monstrosity.
29As a matter of fact, Sugar HQ got in a big debate over whether Lost was sci-fi or not! We ultimately decided not, but it really could go either way.
30I would say a series about an island w/ apparitions and smoke monters that seems to exist outside of time and space to be pretty sci-fi-y.
31I'm sad that Doctor Who was left off the list, that's a great show!
32I love me some Supernatural, but it is not now nor has it ever pretended to be science fiction.
I voted for it anyway
33I dont believe Supernatural is sci fi but hell ill vote for those hot Texas boys any day! Fringe of course is second. Every episode is stranger than the one before..and the old man is just great
34Where is the "Other" category? I vote for Stargate Atlantis. I'm so sad it's ending.
35Buzz, I normally agree with you, but LOST is so very very Sci-Fi.
36How is Lost not Sci-Fi? The plain fact that they introduced a character named Daniel Faraday (and also Mrs. Hawking) should be a big indication. And the obvious time travel factor of the show. The psychological and zoological experiments that have apparently taken place on the Island. Electromagnetism and the geology of the Island as it pertains to time travel/time distortion, to the hatch, to the distortion of light waves, even to the salubrious medical effects of simply being on the Island like Jin's increased fertility, accelerated healing, Rose's cancer remission, and the fact that around 70 people survived the initial plane crash; even insalubrious effects like Ben's cancer, the 100% mortality rate of those who have conceived on the Island (excluding Sun who *spoiler* managed to leave the Island), the disease that supposedly wiped out Rousseau's crew and possibly made Aaron sick. Even the Smoke Monster, which is obviously a mechanism that can be controlled somehow. Lost is most definitely science fiction.
37Tough choice. BSG is a classic so I had to vote for that. But where's Doctor Who and Torchwood? Probably the best sci-fi shows around right now.
38I do not see the appeal behind The Fringe at all. I voted for Eureka for the lightness of the show, but really ... I would have voted for Doctor Who if it was on there.
39Smallville
