We've debated the merits of this year's best comedic movie actors and actresses, now let's move on to the dramatic roles. I realize some of these films aren't out quite yet, but they are 2008 movies so I included the actresses from them anyway.

2It is hard to vote for movies you haven't seen... that being said, I love Kate Winslet and Anne Hathaway, but I had to go with Cate Blanchett. She has always impressed me in her dramatic movies.
3I agree that it's hard to vote for something you haven't seen yet! I went for Angelina, Changeling was amazing

5I REALLY want to see Revolutionary Road, so I picked Kate Winslet.

7Kate is the best, I haven't seen the new movies but she is definitely one of the best on the list. Kiera is up there, at least for dramatic actress.

I'm rooting for Kate even though i haven't seen her movies yet but she has always been a favorit of mine, i hope she'll win this time. Also i hope Anne will get her first nod she deserve it.

13Angelina Jolie and Kate Winslet, even though I haven't seen their movies from '08, they are consistently good actresses.
14While it's true that some of these movies have just been released, maybe this poll will give many of us the incentive to hit the theaters and then come back to vote. True, we're not psychic but we can always vote a bit later.
15I've always really liked Kate Winslet...esp in Eternal Sunshine.

17i forgot to add that since i'm obsessed with Twilight now - i have to say that kristen is right up there for me.
18Well I haven't seen like half of these but I'm pretty sure in my vote for Kate Winslet and Nicole Kidman because they are the best out of this bunch.

20harmonyfrance, I totally agree! Ugh, how can Reese Witherspoon have an Oscar and not Kate?! No offense but Kate has more accent in her left hand then all of Reese Witherspoon.
21i did watch austrailia, the duchess, twilight, and the dark knight. kidman and knightley always have good performances. winslet, blanchett, and jolie are always superb too. i've also heard good reviews for hathaway.
it wouldn't be fair to vote having not seen most of these movies. i'll have to watch more movies during my winter break and then maybe determine the best
