"The wait is over." I wonder if J.J. Abrams was feeling cheeky when he made those the final words in this first full-length trailer for Star Trek, which premiered over the weekend before screenings of Quantum of Solace. The last thing we saw was a teaser all the way back in January, and it's been radio silence since then.
So, here we are: our first look at a young James Tiberius Kirk and the others in this quick, action-packed promo. By action-packed, I mean that a lot of things blow up, and there's some punching and some sex (but not in the same scene). And Zachary Quinto looks just as awesome as Spock as I'd hoped he would. it's really funny - my mom and brother have ALWAYS been trekkers (or trekkies - i can't remember what the RIGHT term is) and they've been talking about this movie for ages since they aren't sold that it's going to be good. i didn't see Bond this weekend cause i didn't want to have my expectations busted open - so thank you for sharing this trailer here!

10luv2blazy — I have no idea who filmed the clip or how, but it was the best of the bootlegs available at the moment. The 'official' version is supposed to hit the web any second, so as soon as I can get a copy, I'll replace this one. I just didn't want to wait any longer since it was spreading like wildfire already!

13I saw the trailer last night when I went to see Quantum of Solace. I'm excited, but I must admit I was not ready to see Uhura's boobies.
JJ's version of Star Trek looks very sexy.

15i really like star trek... well, at least the original series. i was really disappointed when i saw this. i feel like they've taken something that a select audience enjoys and attempted to make it for the masses instead of making it "true to form" for the fans. there is no reason for a woman to take her shirt off in star trek, and more importantly, why on earth does spock look so mad in half of the trailer? he's a vulcan. he doesn't have emotions. that's the point.

i don't want to sound bad, but the point that loads of people are saying "it looks awesome and i'm not even a star trek fan!" proves the point that i'm trying to make.
16im a trekker but i have to say this preview did nothing for me. im not feeling so well today though so it may be that and not the actual preview . . .
17Oh man Eric Bana's appearance at the end of that trailer creeped me out a bit. I'd forgotten he was in this.

19I was never a Trekkie (the only movie I've watched is Wrath of Khan and I never watched the show), but my best friend is a huge fan of Star Trek so I will probably go see this with her. This movie actually looks exciting, and I love Eric Bana (even though he looks very creepy in this).
