Yup, a rumor from last week has been confirmed: Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are heading to How I Met Your Mother for a guest spot in an upcoming episode.
The Hills stars are on set to film their roles this week, and the episode will air in January. Series co-creator Craig Thomas joked to E! that "one of them is the Mother," but that's so obviously not true. What is true: Their part of the episode revolves around poop. How . . . oddly fitting.
Writes E!'s Kristin Dos Santos, Marshall will be lacking an appropriate place to do no. 2 at work. Then:
According to CBS, Spencer and Heidi will be playing magazine cover versions of themselves as Marshall searches for a place to "read a magazine." Speidi will taunt and tease Marshall from the confines of his current copy of Them Weekly.
Heh, Them Weekly.
Anyway, How I Met Your Mother showed it can handle big-name guest stars well with the Britney Spears episodes last Spring. But I'm curious to see whether Heidi and Spencer will draw viewers to the show — or repel them. Do you think this is a savvy move? Or does it seem risky to give these two even more exposure?

I don't watch the show but if I did, I'd pass on this episode.
1Yeah, my distaste for these two may outweigh my love for this show. I hardly ever miss an episode, but I'd get a kick out of how Speidi would react if we all boycotted this episode and HIMYM got its lowest ratings ever that night.
2this is awful news! i am so upset that a quality show like himym would allow such trash on their show....im guessing most of the cast is probably not too happy either.
3first Britney, then those two :/
4Unless they are trash talking Speidi, I will be unimpressed with the episode.
5Why oh why. Britney was already awful, these are going to be terrible!
6They're just not going to go away, are they?
7My jaw totally hit the floor when I read this headline, then I realized it was just a guest spot.
8Britney was OUTSTANDING in that show, how can these two even hope to hold a candle to that?
jasmint, I'm with you. I have UBER love for HIMYM, but I'd be willing to boycott it for one night if they're on.
9I love this show so much, and I'm sad when CBS makes the writers work in these crazy guest spots to beef up ratings.
Although, if Speidi is linked with poop in their episode, I guess it can't be all bad!
10I LOVE this show. Love it. But I don't like heidi and spencer. Still, it won't keep me from watching.
11I heart heart heart HIMYM & loathe Spencer/Heidi.
12Still they may do something brilliant with them.
Ugh ugh ugh I LOVE How I Met Your Mother but I'm sure I'm going to hate this episode because of Heidi and Spencer. :/ Why did they have to go with those two??? Ugh.
13Horrible stunt casting!!!I'm not really happy about this so all. But I really love HIMYM, so I will give it a try.
14Are they trying to send their ratings straight into the toilet with these two as "guest stars"?
15
this show is crap but I love how they brought on Brit and now Heidi. I love both those girls,
they crack me up, so they're the only episodes I'll watch. Someone over there seriously has the same sense of humor as me.
16No No No! Not those two annoying people!
17Britney was bad enough :gag: But I can't take those two on one of my shows.
The show has several great characters that can carry themselves when given a decent script. I wish they would knock off the crap.
Is it sweeps week or something?
And now they're adding Kim Kardashian to the same episode. At least it's all in one episode and we won't be tortured for weeks by these morons.
18Shark alert.
19Wtf is up with all of this stunt casting? I may have to skip this episode, which won't be too difficult since I'm only a casual viewer but I'm starting to like this show.
20i'm very upset with the show about this one. it was one thing to have britney on it cause that was cool but these 2 are just REALLY REALLY annoying!
