Well, here it is, folks: A real look at Cadillac Records, the musical biopic people have been buzzing about lately — especially since we first caught a glimpse of Beyonce as Etta James. The movie focuses on several legendary greats, like Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, and Leonard Chess, portrayed by the likes of Jeffrey Wright, Columbus Short, Mos Def and Adrien Brody.
The story chronicles the rise of Chess Records in 1950s Chicago when, as the voiceover explains, "Sex had a sound. Danger had a rhythm. And freedom had a music all its own." Cadillac Records opens Dec. 5. To check out the trailer, read more.

Myeh, not excited. Dreamgirls soured me for good on Beyonce-driven music movies.
1we've heard so much about this movie, and i think that i was more interested when they were first talking about it. i don't think that i'm going to go out of my way to check it out - i've still never seen dreamgirls and i think that this movie is a similar context, so i'm probably going to miss out on this as well.
2Need someone to play an African-American soul /jazz / doo wop / r&b / blues / gospel singer in the fifties / sixties? Beyonce is your girl!
3That looks cute, I love Music-driven movies that are not necessarily musicals. DreamGirls was a MUSICAL, this is a movie like Walk the Line.
4I love Muddy Waters. I may check out this movie just for the biopic aspect and the get a glimpse of the greats and their lives. Another perspective.
5I'm not totally impressed by Beyonce's acting skills. She seems to think that acting is wearing a wig and gaining/losing weight.
6Wow there are a lot of legends portrayed in this film. I'll probably check it out. I like Beyonce and all, but the girl ain't got nothing on Etta James.
7i'm pretty sick of beyonce, i don't think she pulled off Etta, at least from what I can tell in this preview.
8Musical, music-driven - either way, Dreamgirls was awful, and Beyonce did NOT help it.
9I've never seen Deramgirls, but I'm looking forward to this one, especially after I ready Beyonce's interview in InStyle.

12I really liked Dreamgirls, and this to me looks even better. I'm not a huge Beyonce fan, but I don't mind her music, and I think from the little bit they show of her in this trailer, looks like she did a good job acting wise. Didn't gain enough weight though. I wonder if they even tried to find an unknown to play her, or they just thought they'd go with the money with Beyonce even though she looks nothing like her. And Beyonce's voice sounds nothing like Etta's.
