Reese may be most known for her romantic comedies, but it seems as if she's about to change all that. She just finished shooting the thriller Rendition with Jake Gyllenhaal and is set to star in the horror film, Our Family Trouble. Now her production company Type A Films is also developing Rebecca Godfrey's book Under the Bridge which is based on the 1997 killing of teenager Reena Virk at the hands of a group of high school students in British Columbia. According to the story:
Godfrey, who's from the same area, returned to her hometown to research the eight high schoolers who were charged in the case, investigating the cliques at the group's well-off school as well as the life of Virk, the daughter of Indian immigrants. Two of the students were convicted in 2005.
Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen) is set to direct. It's not clear whether Reese will star in Under the Bridge, but Type A has bought the rights to Godfrey's story so maybe she'll take on the role. Either way, it's a far cry from her Legally Blonde days, no?

Reese is smart and talented; Under the Bridge seems like an challenging project.
1news like this makes me so happy. i think reese is such a talented actress and its so sad to see people get type-casted cause its rare you ever see female 'dumb blondes' break out of that role. after walk the line, i deff had some new respect in her acting ability so yay reese, hopefully she'll sign onto this cause it sounds like it has some great potential!
2This picture is just SO VERY BEAUTIFUL it almost feels like falling in love...
3I loved thirteen. I thought it was absolutely brillant. Good to see she likes the story. No wonder jake is attracted to her. She was accepted to harvard i think and she didn't go. She pursued acting instead. The gal is smart!
