Clint Eastwood directs himself in his next movie on deck after Changeling, and he has hinted that it will likely be his last performance. The first thing I noticed was how grizzly his voice stays through the entire preview. And my first reaction was that it is dangerously close to him parodying himself. Then there's a whole lot of racial tension and a startling image of this cranky man pointing a large gun at teenagers (dangerous teenagers, but still).
But let me rewind. According to IMDB, the plot of Gran Torino is as follows: "Disgruntled Korean War vet Walt Kowalski (Eastwood) sets out to reform his neighbor, a young Hmong teenager, who tried to steal Kowalski's prized possesion: his 1972 Gran Torino."
Gran Torino opens Jan. 16. To watch the preview for yourself, read more.

The trailer was lol-inducing. So cheesy.
1Wow ! this look bad.
2my boyfriend is pretty excited to see this so I'm sure we'll catch it when it comes out. And really I love Clint, so I don't mind too much.
3lately i've been not so impressed with clint - but i guess he has his audience right? everyone's talking about how changling could have been great if it were shorter and then there's this movie. i don't know. i guess that it's nice that he's able to walk away now while he's on top - and stick to directing...
4Quite a dull trailer and I agree Buzz, he does totally look like he's parodying himself! But I've heard nothing but good buzz so far.
