High School Musical 3 hit theaters over the weekend, much to the delight of preteens and Zac Efron fans everywhere.
A lot of you said you didn't really understand the hype around this big-screen release, but given the movie's vast popularity, I'm still not really convinced. So, it's OK, you can admit it: Have you ever watched one of the High School Musical movies?

If you have a girl under the age of ten, they're pretty hard to ignore...they'll discover them some place!
Here, the girls have HSM birthday parties: watch the movie and sing and dance to the numbers. And the movies are so popular, even with pre-teen boys, that the school uses the music for gym class and outdoor activities.
1I'm 23 and I've never watched a high school musical movie, but I don't mind watching them and actually I will try doing that in the coming weeks.
2I can't stand the people that are in them, so it would take a lot for someone to get me to watch this movies
3i haven't, but I'm not necessarily opposed to them! I love a good musical, a movie with a good cheese factor, etc...I've been thinking about checking them out, secretly of course
4I saw the first and was forced to watch the second. I am not a fan of them though, and it was fun making jokes about the second. They are so unecesarily dramatic!
5And Zac Efron's face expressions are always enjoyable because of how ridiculous they are!
I saw the third one this weekend and really enjoyed it.
6Much better then the second one.
no, i'm much to mature for the Disney franchise.
7I haven't seen them and don't have any plans to track them down. But I'm not opposed. I bet I would enjoy the cheese.
8Because I have a young daughter I have seen them all. The first one was cute. The second was terrible (a couple of the songs were tolerable). And I thought the third was actually fairly entertaining. I especially appreciated the many dance movie, mtv video, and movie musical references there were.
9Does anyone love Grease? I can see why musicals are so fun. They make you happy and want to dance and learn the songs. My daughter who is only 2 watched the first one and loved all the singing and dancing.
10I saw the first one, thought it was uber cheesy (which I like) and tried to see the second, but it just never happened.
11strangely enough, i had never seen one (even though i have a younger sister and some of her friends up at our cottage who love it), but i did catch about 5-10 minutes of one on saturday night while killing time in a hotel room...it was zac efron and that stupid dark haired girl dancing in a field/having a picnic
12but then we turned it off
oh and i've also seen the main gym scene in the first one online on youtube at work just because two girls (30+) love them and wanted the rest of us to witness its glory
I've never seen any of these movies but I secretly want to! I don't even know why, they just look fun.
13I saw the first one and hated it.So NOW I avoid them like the plague.
14I avoid cheese
15Would rather stab myself in the eye with a fork..or watch Gigili tied to a chair..with eyes clamped over...oops sorry ..Halloween is taking over my imagination!
16I had to see HSM3 but I liked it.
17They sucked me in with their crazy songs and general Disney cheesiness...Disney knows how to market products.
I've seen the first two on TV because everyone around me was so hyped by it, and I wanted to be fair and give it a chance...I still hate Zanessa, though.
18i saw the tv movies but i dont have plans tow atch the movie.
19my darling husband jokingly said he saw the first one and I believed him. I was........ yeah. I was happy when he told me he was just joking and would hopefully never see them ever.
20Zach Efron DOES make funny faces...
21I've seen the first one and even though the acting is a bit forced, it's really cute and just a fun time. I'd be interested to see all three, but I won't be seeing Senior Year in theaters. I happened to catch the first one on TV last week and had "get your head in the game" and the status quo song stuck in my head for days!
22I'm a sucker for these cheesy Disney movies. I'll probably catch HSM3 on Disney in 2009.
23I've seen parts of the first two because I have 2 nieces who LOVE them, and its sometimes the movies they want to see before nap time..
24I've seen the first two but gave up on the last one.
25There's no option to say "I Netflixed the first two and probably will Netflix the third as well." I guess that's a little clunky.
26the movies are very cute for the target audience: pre-teens. i've got girls in this age group so i've seen them all, and will likely see them all again. one reviewer (think it was rolling stone) asked where the "gossip girl" type sexual stuff was (in SHM3), but that isn't what this series is; it's harmless fun for pre-teens. thank goodness there is still some of that. i prefer cheese to sexually suggestive for my girls.
27nope - i've never been interested and i've never been unlucky enough to stumble on them on TV - but i did see the live show when i was at Disney world last summer
28My youngest sister loves these movies and my middle sister is obsessed with Zac Efron, so it was inevitable that I would see all of these movies. They are actually better than you might expect! The first one was okay (but really cheesy), the second one was better, and the third one was actually great. Some of the songs are pretty fun to sing along to! I love Ashley Tisdale so thats partly why I watch them.
29lickety split, the wholesomeness is also what I like about these movies. There aren't many movies like that anymore...of course, it's cheesy but its not really intended for older audiences! Kids love it...it's like a cleaner version of Grease (but not necessarily as good). But I remember seeing Grease when I was younger and I didn't understand any of the innuendos or sexual references. When i finally was old enough to understand everything, I was really surprised I was allowed to watch that movie when I was little!
30I've seen them(1-2), I had to know what the fuss was about. It's ment for children, that's all I'm gonna say right now.
31I've never seen them, but I've been curious to watch the first one just to see why everyone likes it so much.
32I was watching my neice on the night that the first movie premiered on TV, and I secretly loved it. Yep, I've seen all three. Some cheesy wholesomeness is a good break sometimes to the monotony of violent vulgar things (but of course I love those too).
33Ew, ew, ew. No.
34At first, I absolutely hated them and thought they were like, really cheesy and stupid.
But they are the most ADDICTING movies I have ever come across. I own the first two and saw the third on opening night. I hated every minute of it....but wow.... I still love it.
Though, on the flip side, I am an elementary school teacher, and drama club director... so, in my defense.... this is research.
35i've seen a little bit of the second and a little bit of the first. they look cute and i hate to admit i really liked lizzie maguire when i was a bit younger (though WAY too old to be watching it still!). of course, zac efron kind of gives me the creeps so i don't think i could jump on that bandwagon. i think eventually i will see at least one of these movies in its entirety.
36Come to think of it, I have seen bits of pieces of the movie.. but I can't recall actually sitting on the couch and watching the entire thing. Maybe I should arrange time to do that prior to running to watch the 3rd one.
