I will watch both!

In reality, I'll likely watch both, but to be honest, I was impressed with neither last night.

I don't think I'll prefer one... there will always be a special place in my heart for Grey's, and it isn't fair to compare PP to grey's because after all like they said it is NOT grey's 2.0, I enjoyed it!

I got so bored last night I turned it off about 45 minutes in. Both of the shows were going nowhere and I think the spin off will bomb. It's trying to hard.

Too soon to tell. I will stick with Greys for now.

I will always be a Greys girl! But Addison's new show did grow on me by the end of the night! (Especially because of Piz from Veronica Mars with his shirt off! I LOVE him! )

Oh Grey's Grey's Greys!!! I didn't really like the spin off...and I kinda hated the fact that the episode last night was both, it made it seem so choppy and just brought both shows down. I do love Chris Lowell though...he's amazing as Piz on VM.

it's so hard for me to talk about this. yesterday was HORRIBLE. i could only watch until 10.

I liked both, (Tim Daly and Taye Diggs are really hot), but I am getting tired of the Lizzie, George, and Callie crap. Callie needs to kick Lizzie's butt already for sleeping with her husband or her & George just need to split. He really doesn't love her. If he did, he wouldn't be questioning if he did or not.

I love Grey's. I won't know if I love Private Practice until I have watched enough episodes to judge. And I agree. Last night was not their best. The best part is the talking elevator. Addie was supposed to have popped up pregnant. That was a letdown. Meredith's stepmom dying was also a bummer. She was a good, lovable character. Her dad sucks. Bad move on the writers part.

I'll watch both but I'll prefer Grey's...

Style Before Comfort!

I really liked Addison's stuff. I didn't think I would because she always came off as sort of boring in a way. The talking elevator was great. I hope Tilly becomes some sort of weird character. I will always love Grey's but I will watch both.

i don't like addison so i won't like her show. she always looks drugged or something, by the look on her face. and she acts like she's all that. i don't know. just my opinion. they should have showed her 1 hr episode AFTER grey's, as i'm sure most people still would have watched it and it wouldn't have been so annoying with all the new characters.

i love addison! she and dr. bailey are my favorites. i'll be sad if addi leaves grey's. i'm so sick of the izzie-george-callie storyline. i don't like izzie and george as a couple at all! where are all the freaky cool surgeries? i'm starting to get over grey's.

I really didn't enjoy either one last night, but I think "Private Practice" held my attention more than GA did. I'm tired of all these bad things haapening to Mer. Enough already! Can't she and McDreamy just be happy! Oh well, I'll continue to watch GA and will most likely tune in to Addison's hour.

I LOVED the LA stuff. In fact when I re-watch it in a little bit on my DVR I'm going to fast-forward through the Seattle stuff. Nothing new happened there except the thing with Meredith's stepmom (SO sad) and Christina picking out wedding/bridesmaids dresses. BOring. Private Practice was like a breath of fresh air.

People who are hating the spin-off already need to remember that Grey's Anatomy wasn't an absolute hit right from Day 1. Give it some time!

I really hope the new show gets picked up for next season. Tim Daly is SO sexy!

I was under-whelmed by the other show last night. I was also very disappointed in Grey's. McDreamy is being McA**hole these days.

I will watch both...I actually really liked the whole LA thing last night. I wish we could have had more Grey's scenes though.

I agree jess55, the storylines in GA are really going downhill--it's become so repetitive and boring... I also found the switching back so annoying--it made it hard for me to care about either of the shows and think it would have worked better separately.

I personally thought the LA scenes were trying way too hard to get us interested and to show us how "cool" and "interesting" the characters are... Totally disappointing.

Did anyone else almost laugh during the Thatcher-Meredith scene at the end? I know it's wrong but the acting just didn't seem believable to me...

I hate this episode! It was not worth the wait. What's up with killing Meredith's dad's wife? What's up with the elevator thing in LA?

Why oh why is this episode so annoying? I love Grey's Anatomy and I hate to see it go down like this. Seriously, if Meredith and Derek will break up at the end of the season, I don't know if I will watch this show anymore.

Addison is the only good thing left on Grey's, so I think I will prefer watching Private Practice. Really, though, they're very different shows so I don't think it's really a competition between the two.

I LOVED the Addison show!! I ws a nice break from the constant drawn out story lines on Grey's -- I'm getting exhausted with the George/Izzy crap -- seriously Callie beat the crap out of her (pleeeze!) -- she so needs it.

I really like Private Practice! Grey's is getting soooo tired I find...and just depressing. I thought Private Practice was a lot lighter and funnier...like how Grey's was in the beginning. I really hope ABC decides to air it!

I hate Meredith and Derek with a passion, so anything that gets the focus off them is good. Addison is one of my faves, so I'd probably watch the spin-off more.

There scene with the receptionist going to surf was unbearable. He is not even attractive, and the whole scene was ridiculously cheesy. That would never happen on Grey's - and I appreciate that. I love Addison, and I don't think that fits her either.

I like the characters on Private Practice soooooo much better than on Grey's. Especially since all the characters on Grey's are acting contrary to their 'personalities.'

I've been a GA fan from the beginning and is the only series I watch (besides HBO series shows). Wish the writers would stop killing off Meredith's family. Did like watching Tim Daly & Taye Diggs & would give PP a chance this fall.

private practice looks like a cheap knock off of greys n greys has been sucking this season. the first season was the best, now it's just coasting. i hope greys gets better soon!

I think that I would like/watch private practice on its own, but when comparing it to grey's, there is NO CONTEST... during the 2 hours, I kept saying, "TAKE ME BACK TO SEATTLE GRACE!!!"

Addison/Kate Walsh was the only reason I watched GA. I will watch Private Practice and say so long to Grey's Anatomy.
