Dexter Morgan's got a little more killing to do on Showtime. The network has just picked up two more seasons of Dexter, ensuring it will be around at least through season five.
The third season is airing right now on Showtime. Season four will start shooting in the Spring in Los Angeles.
Dexter's already broken a ton of records for Showtime: It's the network's highest-rated drama, and on DVD, it's the network's best-selling show. It's also gotten boatloads of critical acclaim and nabbed five Emmy nominations this year. In a statement, Showtime entertainment president Robert Greenblatt said:
"I thought at best we would attract a devoted cult audience but soon realized that, ironically, this show is so thematically rich and layered with humanity that audiences of all kinds have flocked to it."
So, Dexter fans, are you glad you won't have to say goodbye to your favorite serial killer anytime soon? Do you think the show has enough good material for another two seasons?

Woo-hoo! Love me some Dexter!
1yes I am glad. My hubby loves this show.
2Yay!
3Love this show, although is it back on in Canada yet? Because I haven't seen it and I'll be pissed if I'm missing season two because they decided to switch up times.
4
2 more seasons of my man.
5YESSS! This is the best show!
6Yay...I love Dexter, I'm liking this season a lot so far!
7
Love Dexter!
8awesome!! I absolutely am in LOVE with Dexter!!!!
9Woo hoo! I really need to catch up on this show, but have loved every episode I have seen!
10I'm happy to receive additional seasons of my fake tv serial killer boyfriend.
But I have concerns if they reflect the general character of the current season. I fear that Dexy and I may have to break up if he can't recapture some of his excitement and intensity.
11I 2nd, 3rd, 4th... etc. that WHOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
12I love Dexter soooo much!
Unfortunately, where I live, I've only had viewing access to season 1 on Bravo - don't think it'll be shown on whichever network showed it during the writer's strike (ABC, NBC, CBS?) last year. That was edited so it wouldn't be too "graphic/gruesome". Now that Bravo is showing season 1 from the beginning... I'll be getting my fix.
Hopefully, it means that Bravo will be brave enough to order season 2 & 3. Can't afford to get the "complete seasons" DVD's - Unless I can nag family to get it for Xmas gifts! Renting them is even MORE expensive since you have to pay per episode, & not by season.
DAMN! I don't know what I'm missing re: seasons 2 & 3.
13I just saw the first season of Dexter after so many people raving about how great it was & I am definitely hooked! I have season 2 on my Netflix queue! I can't wait to get it! So I'm definitely excited that it's going to be around for another 2 seasons
14LOVE LOVE LOVE
15DEXTER!
THEY DEFINITLEY WILL HAVE ENOUGH MATERIAL TO KEEP US ALL ENTERTAINED!
i think that it's a GREAT thing that they've picked up the show for a few more seasons, but i have to say that i wonder what the folks who saw it on Fox are thinking now. do you think that they will ever re-air the shows on network tv like they did during the strike?
16My wife, son and watched the first episode and were instantly hooked!! We now own season 1 and 2 and am waiting for 3 even though we've seen them all loads of times. Also purchased the official kill shirt as well as other shirts
17Congrats on season 4 and 5 from Randy, Rose and Brett of Windsor Ontario. Great ensemble cast and well layered...keep up the awesome work!!
