I love this news: Steve Martin is joining the cast of the untitled Nancy Meyers movie that will star Meryl Streep (I've already expressed how much I'm looking forward to this project). What's more, his character will duke it out (maybe not physically, though I would love to see that) with Alec Baldwin's character to win the affections of the main lady (Streep).
I'm not always a fan of Meyers's work (What Women Want, oy) but she reliably attracts some top-notch talent. Her movies have lured Jack Nicholson, Kate Winslet, Diane Keaton (a few times), Helen Hunt, and Steve Martin (Father of the Bride!), among others. Mixing it up this time with Alec Baldwin and placing the ever-charming Meryl Streep front and center seems like a recipe for awesome.

Oh boy, when What Women Want first came out, I really liked it. I even got it on DVD! Ugh, now I can't stand it. Isn't it funny how as we grow up we come to our senses?

3well it's always nice to see a cast that's made up of established big names - the old school actors that we know and love rather than the new ones - so this could have some substance to it. i don't know if i'm really going to be drawn to it, but i guess you never know.

What Women Want- wow. thats a sh*teous movie. Although I think Helen has never looked better than in that movie.

7I'm excited for this movie, I like most of Nancy Meyer's movies. What Women Want was not that good, but it is a guilty pleasure of mine. I watch it when it comes on TV sometimes...the ending of that film is sh*teous though.
8I'll see anything with Steve Martin--looks like a great cast. It's good to see Alec Baldwin getting a chance to make a (possibly) good film, too. I love him in 30 Rock.
9Interesting that Meryl Streep keeps getting these roles with many male interests i.e. Mamma Mia. She's a great actress but I'm having a hard time believing her sex appeal.

12I don't give her alot of credit, alot of her stuff is basically remakes.
