Like Castle, Alyssa Milano's Single With Parents is another of ABC's growing roster of midseason shows. This one stars Milano as Lou, a single woman in her 30s who finds herself being the dumping ground for her parents' wild behavior and irresponsibility. They seem to be the ones off living fabulous lives while she stays behind to watch after their kids or hears their stories about having sex in a helicopter.
There have been a lot of young-slackers-behaving-badly comedies over the past few years, so it's kind of refreshing to have a show in the mix where the adults are the ones acting silly. And if I were going to choose people to play parents living life with reckless abandon, I could do a whole lot worse than Beau Bridges and Annie Potts. The trailer didn't exactly win me over, though, and it felt way longer than its 100 seconds, which can't be a good thing.
There are some awkwardly funny moments here, though, so I'll be curious to see how this one develops. To check out the trailer, just read more.

I can see the potential, but it seems as though it might be a better movie than a tv series. Just not loving Beau Bridges in this trailer.
1"she stays behind to watch after their kids"
That would make them her siblings, right? So, she's a thirty-something big sister acting as nanny to younger sibs while Mom and Dad party or travel? (I can't get video on my computer right now, so I can't watch the trailer).
Meh. Sounds a bit dull.
2Haha, I actually really liked that trailer. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that. Plus I love Alyssa Milano. (and now I'm hungry for milano cookies.)
3nonny — See, I can't actually tell. Something about the trailer makes me think they're her half-sibs from her father's second marriage, but this also seems like a family with a lot of complicated things going on, so I figured I'd keep it a little vague.
4Isn't that the dad from My Name is Earl? And she was married to Earl for a bit right? So he was her father in Law on one show and now is her rel father on this show? Kind of funny. I might check this one out, we'll see
5I'm so sad that Beau Bridges ID factor has been reduced to "the Dad from My Name is Earl". Granted, he hasn't had the same career trajectory as Jeff, but c'mon! He's hollywood royalty!!
6I think it looks like it might have potential. Plus, Eric Winter is hot and I've always liked Amanda Detmer.
7It Looks like I lot of fun. And her friend is the girl from " What about Brian". I think It might work.
8I think it looks great - I love "Grown ups don't just hold hands" - Annie Potts is always hilarious. Fantastic cast with a lot of potential!
9This actually looks like something similar to what a lot of children of baby boomers are going through...except the watching your ex-college roomies kids she had with her Dad...wierd!
10i love alyssa so i'm always crossing my fingers that her projects do well. it's definitely a different show than we've seen lately so i might just have to tune in when it comes on air.
11"this also seems like a family with a lot of complicated things going on, so I figured I'd keep it a little vague."
Oh, okay. ((chuckles)) That's cool. Thanks for the insight, Buzzy!
12I love her. I hope its good. It looks funny. Please let this work.
13I really like Alyssa...I hope this show does well. It looks cute.
14I'll watch it.
15Linda, i think "Single With Parents" is a movie! check out
16www.singlewithparents.com. Maybe they are coming out with the movie the same time as the tv show. cool!
I liked Alyssa on Charmed, and this looks okay, but i don't know if it's enough to make me want to watch it.
17I kinda wanna watch it just for Annie Potts. That might be the only reason to watch actually.
18This looks pretty good. It seems like a nice change from the typical parent child relationships that are often on television. I hope the show does well, I love Alyssa Milano!
