I was a fan of 10 Things I Hate About You [1], the 1999 Taming of the Shrew update that starred Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. But could a TV series based on the story also be great — or would that be taking things too far?

ABC Family is looking to find out, as they've just picked up a pilot for a potential series based on the movie [2]. This one would focus more on the sisters, according to Zap2it:

Both girls attend Padua High and must juggle their social lives, boys and their over-protective dad, but approach life differently. Kat is impatient to make a difference in the world, is strong-willed and a feminist, while Bianca is more concerned with her looks and popularity.
