Every month, Turner Classic Movies invites a star to be the channel's guest programmer. The October selection of Rainn Wilson grabbed my attention because I'm definitely curious to find out what movies have inspired him or what he kicks back and enjoys in his spare time. His choices range from fairly obscure (The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T) to totally adorable (Singin' in the Rain).
This of course got me thinking about what other famous minds I'd like to pick for a movie recommendation. Maybe George Clooney? He's so pretty, but beyond that, he's clearly well-informed and passionate about film. I also know, based on writer Diablo Cody's dozen film picks for the New Beverly Cinema, that she'd be a great guest programmer (her selections reveal a serious weakness for all things '80s — you can check them out here). What stars' film inspirations would you be curious to see?

well..i'm not sure who i would love to see give their opinions. i feel like there are the celebs that like campy mainstream movies but to seem cool, they talk about obscure thinking movies and that's not fun.
1Penelope Cruz and Diane Keaton since I love the majority of each of their movies. Tom Hanks and John Cusack, because they just seem to have great taste. Last but not least, Thandie Newton and Geoffrey Wright.
2Costume Designers, Mike Patton, David Lynch, Audrey Tautou and Ruth Gordon if they could resurrect her from the dead.
3Quick blast from the past. I used to love going to the New Beverly Cinema. I spent a lot of time there in high school and for a few years following graduation. They have a legacy of showing great films in my mind.
4Ugh, I've seen The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T too many times-My daughter loved it when she was little!
5I'd love to hear from Glenn Close, Judi Dench, and Helen Mirren as well as Clooney, Edward Norton, and Johnny Depp.
