Back when I first saw the pilot of The Ex List, which premieres tonight on CBS, I was cautiously optimistic. It wasn't a home run, but the show — which stars Elizabeth Reaser as a woman who learns she has a year to find her Mr. Right and he's someone she's already dated — had enough cute and funny things going for it that I was more than happy to give it time to grow. Once I met the hilarious Diane Ruggiero, who was then the showrunner, I was ready to give it a season pass then and there.
But The Ex List has hit some turmoil since then, and while I'm still excited about tonight's premiere, there's some apprehension mixed in as well. Ruggiero left the show — vocally, and not happily — because she said her vision for the show didn't match CBS's. That's a shame, because her vision was the one I would be tuning in to see. But several episodes of the show were completed under Ruggiero's regime, and it's not like it's in bad hands now: The producer of the original Israeli miniseries on which the show is based has taken over. So, I remain cautiously optimistic.
Here's one thing that hasn't changed: Reaser is still in the lead role as Bella Bloom, and — somewhat surprisingly, given her role as Ava/Rebecca on Grey's Anatomy — she was totally refreshing to watch. She pulls off the laid-back California girl thing well, and with a ragtag cast of roommates, there's a bit of a How I Met Your Mother vibe to the whole thing. Will you be checking out The Ex List, either live tonight or via TiVo later? To watch a clip, just read more.

DVR is set up so I'll be checking it out later. It has potential, but Friday nights are deadly.
1I cannot stand reaser. so I wont be watching Plus the premise sounds uninteresting.
2ever since i first heard about this show i've been really excited to see what it's about so i'm going to tune in (or DVR it since i won't be home). you never know, it could exceed expectations.
3I don't know that I can get past my general distaste for her Grey's character. In fact, I'm sure I can't.
4I wasn't a fan of her's on Grey's either, but I say that was good writing b/c I get the vibe you were supposed to dislike her. But I think this show looks cute, so I'll DVR it. BUT putting it on Friday night is kind of the kiss of death...
5I don't find her all that cute, and the long hair isn't changing that. So no, I won't be watching.
6I can personally relate to the premise, so i will give it a chance. I don't like the time slot, though.
7I gave in and watched this because I was bored staying in last night. It was kinda cute, actually, and I think it has potential. The psychic was funny, and the characters are pretty likeable. However, the whole bikini wax bit was ridiculous. The displaying of the brazilian to the roommate, the ridiculous toupee, and the neosporin and scabs comment? Ew, and no.
8I recorded it and watched it...only got through half the show. I find the main character self-absorbed and unlikable. Probably won't finish watching it.
9I loved Augie and the psychic, but had a hard time watching when they weren't on. Will give it another chance, but I'm guessing this will be off my list by the end of the month.
10I liked it, which means it will probably be canceled.
11Trust me tlsgirl, you can get past your general hate for her Grey's character. I did! I hope this doesn't get cancelled.
