Don't expect to see Project Runway on Lifetime anytime soon. Today, a judge ruled in NBC's favor and blocked the show's move from Bravo to Lifetime. According to an NBC statement:
The overwhelming evidence demonstrated that The Weinstein Company violated NBC Universal's right of first refusal to future cycles of Project Runway. After hearing all of the evidence, the court issued an order prohibiting The Weinstein Company from taking the show or any spinoff to Lifetime.
No statement from Lifetime yet, but I'll keep you posted. Meanwhile, it's unclear what this means for any future seasons of Project Runway on Bravo. The last report from Lifetime was that casting had been done for season six with new producers Bunim/Murray, and the show would start airing in January.

Thank the Lord! I just can't freakin' stand the Lifetime channel, or image ProjRun on anything but Bravo. They need to stick with movie of the week.
1I agree tlsgirl. I am guessing that Lifetime is/was trying to change their image with Project Runway.
2Excuse me while I shout! Praise Him! Lol. I had been bracing myself for the Lifetime move. Pr BELONGS on Bravo!
3hmmm...and the saga continues. it's a shame that there's so much nonsense going on with this show. i don't know what bravo has to gain by not allowing the show to move, when the new season's been shot and all that. i think that it's just going to be a bad move all around if this debate continues, especially when the show is really losing in the ratings. i used to LOVE the show but now i can't be troubled to watch it if i miss the first run, since know that it will be rerun a million times.
4I guess we'll need to wait a year or so now before we'll see the next season. Sounds like they're going to have to completely pull the show back together from this train wreck first.
I am glad the show is going to remain on Bravo though. I can't stand Lifetime.
5Yay! This just made my day!
6SO EXCITED at the possibility that it won't be moving!!! But i'll be really upset if this means we don't get another season!
7I hate to say it because I have a friend who works there, but Bunim/Murray will RUIN Project Runway.
8i really hope this isn't the last season, because this season is pretty horrible, and project runway shouldn't be remembered for that. hopefully bravo is forgiving...
9Please, please, please let all this work out! It's my favorite show!
10I'm glad it probably won't be moving to Lifetime. The only reason I watch that channel is for reruns of Will & Grace, and I think ProjRun would be better if it stayed on Bravo. I really hope everything works out!
11Oh I'm so glad PR won't be moving to Lifetime too! I just hope Bravo doesn't move the show to LA.
12Count me in the "not looking forward to what Bunim/Murray would do with Project Runway" camp too. Don't think we need any Real World/Road Rules challenges.
13I really don't care if project runway is on lifetime or bravo. and its true what someone said...the reruns are on a million times. and the new season sucks. they're all stupid and wannabes of previous cast members. it doesn't matter what network its on, it just keeps going deeper and deeper down the toilet.
14Honestly, I think Lifetime will be lucky if NBC doesn't sue the pants off of them for trying to steal PR. NBC had a right of first refusal and you can't just ignore that. Pretty sure it is a binding contract with, I don't know...ramifications if you break it or interfere with it... Also, it was going to hurt my soul to watch Lifetime, Television for Idiots.
