Nickelback: Even More Formulaic Than You Thought

Apr 12 2007 - 1:12pm

On the rare occasions that I actually notice a Nickelback [1] song playing — you know, like, "what is that mediocre rumbling sound? Oh, it's Nickelback" — I'm struck by how utterly indistinguishable one hit is from the next. (Who, exactly, are the fans fueling these hits? I have no idea, but that's a perplexing matter for another day.)

Anyway, there's a good reason I can't tell Nickelback's songs apart. The geniuses over at The Webshite [2] have posted two of the band's big hits — 2001's "How You Remind Me" and "Someday" off 2003's The Long Road [3] — so that one song plays through the right speaker and the other through the left. Normally, it would be irritating to have two different songs playing in my headphones, except, well, these aren't really two different songs. Listen at your own risk.
