Mae Whitman

It was a reunion of sorts when Mae Whitman (aka George Michael's plain girlfriend Ann on Arrested Development) joined Michael Cera for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World earlier this year. As Ramona Flowers's ex Roxy Richter, she was delightfully disgruntled, but I'm also happy watching her on a weekly basis on Parenthood. In a world where so many young actresses go the dumb and ditzy route, Whitman seems smart, full of sass, and, well, real. Coming up next, she'll take a crack at horror film The Factory.
