Most Unexpected Stand-Up Routine: Kirk Douglas

It was already impressive that 94-year-old Douglas was sprightly enough to present the best supporting actress award, but I don't think anyone realized that he was going to upstage the hosts with his many zingers. He cracked wise about James Franco looking better "out of the cave," complimented Anne Hathaway for being gorgeous, and goofed around with his cane and the Oscar envelope. Still got it!

Colin Firth's speech was a huge dud. It was painful. Like watching a block of wood chew on itself.

The show had young hosts, but it definitely did not feel fun. To me, it felt corporate. The bosses wanted it to move along, and it did.

um, i think colin firth was trying to politely say that he was on the verge of throwing up, not *literally* dancing.
