Would You Prefer an Edited Version of the Emmys?

There's been some deliberation in the entertainment world about the length of next month's Emmy awards. The Academy of TV Arts and Sciences initially decided to prerecord eight of the 28 acceptance speeches ahead of time, then air edited versions during the live show. Apparently there was some backlash this week, and the decision was reversed, meaning the show will either be longer than ever, or the producers will cut back on some of the fun stuff — like Neil Patrick Harris's monologue and TV clip montages.

Now that the pros have spoken in favor of keeping the show untouched, I'm wondering how the viewers feel. Would you prefer an edited-down Emmys show?

I think that the long spells of "thanks to the people in editing, thanks to my publicist, thanks to Jim, Bob and Mary for all their hard work, thanks mom, thanks uncle Pete" isn't really worth airing. Cut all that out. Leave in the heartfelt comments.

I like the speeches from the winners, it's all the other crap that needs to be edited.

yes - i would actually. i know that i should say that it's really great to see all the winners for all the categories (ok most) get their awards but we all know that there are certain ones that we really care about (i.e. the last 45 minutes or so).

I voted Yes because I want to see NPH as much as possible!!!
