News about another Wes Anderson movie (even if it's not a Wes Anderson original) got me thinking about his ever-growing canon of work. I'll always be partial to Bottle Rocket because it was my first introduction to the brothers Wilson and I still crack up thinking about it, but I have a deep love for Rushmore, too. And who can deny the brilliance of The Royal Tenenbaums? And even though The Darjeeling Limited mostly flew beneath the radar I liked it well enough. On the other hand, some people aren't turned on at all by his trademark aesthetic and stories about dysfunctional families.
What do you think?

Tenenbaums is definitely my favorite, with Rushmore a close second.
1i liked the royals - it was a good movie and i haven't had a chance to see darjeeling yet so i can't say if that's one of my favorites yet.
2That was so hard to pick. Wes Anderson is a God. I chose the Royal Tenenbaums but you know Rushmore was close behind.
3Tenenbaums first. Life Aquatic second. I haven't yet seen Darjeeling Limited.
4The Royal Tenenbaums...it was excellent. Although I have to admit that's the only one of his movies that I have seen.
5The Life Aquatic is one of my favorite movies. SWAMP LEECHES. Everybody check! ... I'm the only one that got hit? What's the deal?!
6I freakin' love all of Wes Anderson's flicks, but there's one scene that gets me verklemped every time I watch it (and I've watched it lots!). While Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums are masterpieces, and The Life Aquatic not so much so, where else can you get Seu Jorge rocking David Bowie in Portugese, seascapes that resemble those in Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and action scenes scored with Casio keyboard presets? Nowhere! Go team Zissou!
7The Royal Tenenbaums is one of my favorite movies of all time. Rushmore is 2nd on my list of Wes Anderson flicks and Life Aquatic is next (I used to have the song from that on my phone
). I'm half way through Darjeeling because I passed out... that's not any indication
of the movie itself, more my narcoleptic'ness when I watch a movie at night. I recently fell asleep during The Kingdom which was ridiculously loud.
8I've seen them all except Bottle Rocket. It's hard to pick just one favourite, but I'd have to go with The Royal Tenenbaums.
9I haven't seen Bottle Rocket but my favorite is The Royal Tenenbaums. I wouldn't mind living inside a Wes Anderson movie if that were possible.
10He sorta reminds me of a slightly creepier Clay Aiken. Maybe that's b*tchy, but I'm just sayin'.
11wow that was a hard one to vote for! i love all those movies EXCEPT life aquatic...that one i didnt care for at all. but the rest were pure genius!!!
love him!
12i love tennebaums, i HATED life aquatic, i couldnt even believe it was same guy.
13I LOVE Tennebaums. I have many fights defending that movie. So, I voted for that one. But to be fair, the only other one I have seen is Rushmore. I should get on that. The others just haven't looked as good. I've heard Bottle Rocket is good though...
14rushmore is my favorite movie of all time.
15royal tenenbaums without a doubt! i adore that movie!
16definitely Rushmore, with Bottle Rocket a very close second.
17Phil - the tent scene gets me every time in RT. what gets you?
18It was really hard to pick between Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums. I had to go with Rushmore though, I think it just made me laugh more.
19Oh, are they?
sigh. Love that movie.
20I can't even decide - there's so many amazing moments in each movie - I definitely exceptionally love The Darjeeling Limited and The Royal Tenenbaums, but I think Rushmore is probably his best written - I love all anything Wes Anderson though...
21Buzz, thanks for that poll!
Wes Anderson is my favorite director and it's really hard to choose favorite film of his. It'slike picking favorite child.
Maybe The Royal Tenenbaums? I'm like Eli, I always wanted to be a Tenenbaum.
22all Wes Anderson movies suck except for The Life Aquatic.
23Shout out to my fellow UT alum! I've seen them all and for some reason i absolutely loved life aquatic the most. It was beautiful and creative and i loved the scene where they ambush the pirates. Willem Dafoe's best role...evvveerrrrr. (arguably)
24I never realized how much he must love the wilson brothers. At least one of them is in almost every movie!
25Definitely Royal Tennenbaums. I've enjoyed all of them, though DL was my least favorite. I had to rewatch Life Aquatic to totally appreciate it, though.
26RUSHMORE by far. Best. Movie. Ever.
27Rushmore all the way!
28I dont like any of them. They dont do it for me. I hate the whole trying too hard to be weird thing.
29I love them all, except Darjeeling Limited. Rushmore is probably my favorite, with Royal Tenenbaums and Bottle Rocket not far behind.
30TENENBAUMS! my favorite movie of all time! my favorite quote comes from it: "everyone knows custer died at little big horn. what this book presupposes is...maybe he didn't?"
LOL!
31btw, i love all wes anderson movies, and the soundtracks! just tenenbaums is my fave.
32Tenenbaums, most def!
33Like and own them all, but Rushmore is my favorite!
